with forecast soundings time-height sections indicating little to
no low-level moisture through the period,VFR conditions will
continue with just high cloudiness expected to persist. After a
light and mostly enerly flow through the overnight hours, a light
to moderate nerly to erly flow is expected again tomorrow as high
pressure moves through the appalachians and low pressure moves
into the plains.

wx map shows 1031mb surface high over the central plains, with
the southern portion of this high continuing to ridge over our
region. Cirrus continues to stream over the region, stemming from
an upper level disturbance in the southwest flow aloft generating
considerable cloud cover and showers over the western gulf and
lower texas. This precipitation expected to stay well south of se
tx S la, thus have removed the low end pop chances for the
20-60nm marine zones.

As the upper level disturbance across the gulf moves east and the
high builds south, clouds and winds will diminish this evening and
overnight. This will allow temperatures to fall in the mid to
upper 40s for lows Tuesday morning, and highs in the mid 60s for
Tuesday afternoon. Another re-enforcing cool front and high
pressure cell expected Wednesday night into Thursday morning will
bring continued cool conditions through Thursday.

By Friday, the high will slip east, allowing for return southeast
to southerly flow to prevail through the weekend. The chance of
showers and thunderstorms will return by Saturday and Sunday due
to increased gulf moisture interacting with an upper level trough
approaching the region from the west.

moderate to strong northeast winds will prevail through Tuesday as
high pressure builds across the region. Winds will diminish by
Wednesday as the high settles over the region. Latest guidance
shows slightly higher winds speeds over the 20-60nm zones east of
cameron, thus have issued a small craft advisory for these zones.

Offshore flow expected to become re- established on Thursday as
another cold front moves through the region. High pressure will
move east of the region by Friday into the weekend, with onshore
flow expected to prevail during this period. An upper level
disturbance will bring the chance of showers and thunderstorms
over the weekend.

NOTE: East coast views moved to GEOS-16. They are experimental and not well supported by NOAA so they may not be correct so be warned. This change required redoing a large amount of the GOES code. If the image you are expecting is not showing, please let me know. You may need to use the EDIT function to update your location.

There are five sources. 1) Documents and manuals from a variety of sources. These have not been checked for accuracy and in many cases have not even been read by anyone associated with L-36.com. I have no idea of they are useful or accurate, I leave that to the reader. 2) Articles others have written and submitted. If you have questions on these, please contact the author. 3) Articles that represent my personal opinions. These are intended to promote thought and for entertainment. These are not intended to be fact, they are my opinions. 4) Small programs that generate result presented on a web page. Like any computer program, these may and in some cases do have errors. Almost all of these also make simplifying assumptions so they are not totally accurate even if there are no errors. Please verify all results. 5) Weather information is from numerious of sources and is presented automatically. It is not checked for accuracy either by anyone at L-36.com or by the source which is typically the US Government. See the NOAA web site for their disclaimer. Finally, tide and current data on this site is from 2007 and 2008 data bases, which may contain even older data. Changes in harbors due to building or dredging change tides and currents and for that reason many of the locations presented are no longer supported by newer data bases. For example, there is very little tidal current data in newer data bases so current data is likely wrong to some extent. This data is NOT FOR NAVIGATION. See the XTide disclaimer for details. In addition, tide and current are influenced by storms, river flow, and other factors beyond the ability of any predictive program.
