Discussion
Short term Today through Wednesday
main forecast issues will be dense fog this morning and pops on
Wednesday. Nearly all surface observations across area are
reporting visibilities under a half mile. GOES 16 night fog
sector is showing worst fog across southeast texas... But believe
visibility's will continue to lower across entire forecast area
overnight. No changes to dense fog advisory for this morning. Once
fog dissipates later this morning... Partly sunny and mild
conditions are expected for the afternoon. High temperatures will
reach into the 60s. Models have been consistent in bringing upper
disturbance across the area on Wednesday. Will increase pops
beginning late tonight across SE texas... And across the remainder
of the area for Wednesday. LI progs continue to keep best
instability offshore but will still maintain isolated thunder in
the forecast through Wednesday.

Long term Wednesday night through Monday
will taper pops Wednesday night through Thursday as disturbance
moves east of the area. High pressure at the surface and aloft will
build over the area with dry weather anticipated for Thursday night
through Saturday. Next front will approach the area Saturday night
through Sunday. Models hint at some moisture pooling along the
boundary but at this time, believe pops in the 10-20 percent range
looks good through Monday. Temperatures will be trending above
normal this weekend with many areas forecasted to reach into the
70s on Sunday.

Marine
Weak mainly easterly flow is forecasted through Wednesday as high
pressure settles over the southeast u.S. Frontal boundary will be
move through the waters Wednesday through Wednesday night.

Gradient is forecasted to tighten Wednesday night and Thursday.

Offshore winds to SCA criteria are likely with a good potential
for gale force. Winds will diminish beginning Friday as gradient
diminishes and high pressure builds over the area.

There are five sources. 1) Documents and manuals from a variety of sources. These have not been checked for accuracy and in many cases have not even been read by anyone associated with L-36.com. I have no idea of they are useful or accurate, I leave that to the reader. 2) Articles others have written and submitted. These are not intended to be fact, they are my opinions. 4) Small programs that generate result presented on a web page. Like any computer program, these may and in some cases do have errors. Almost all of these also make simplifying assumptions so they are not totally accurate even if there are no errors. Please verify all results. 5) Weather information is from numerious of sources and is presented automatically. It is not checked for accuracy either by anyone at L-36.com or by the source which is typically the US Government. See the NOAA web site for their disclaimer. Finally, tide and current data on this site is from 2007 and 2008 data bases, which may contain even older data. Changes in harbors due to building or dredging change tides and currents and for that reason many of the locations presented are no longer supported by newer data bases. For example, there is very little tidal current data in newer data bases so current data is likely wrong to some extent. This data is NOT FOR NAVIGATION. See the XTide disclaimer for details. In addition, tide and current are influenced by storms, river flow, and other factors beyond the ability of any predictive program.
