Marine Weather and Tides
St. Augustine, FL

Version 3.4
What's New / NOTES
5/20/2018 -- NOAA is having problems with the data feed that I use to draw the graphs. They are aware of the issue and working to resolve it. Sometimes changing the location by about a mile will give a correct graph. 3/3/2018 - There is a new GOES Satellite for the east coast that required rewriting that part of the code. Please report any issues.

Update
Sw flow ahead of weakening frontal boundary across the SE us will
continue into Tuesday and this will lead to showers and storms
developing after midnight along the NE gomex coast and possibly
pushing into the i-75 corridor of inland NE fl towards morning
otherwise most of the rest of NE fl and SE ga will remain warm and
humid overnight with lows in the mid upper 70s with partly to
mostly cloudy skies with lingering high clouds aloft. The faster
sw flow pattern will set up the west coast sea breeze by late
morning that will push into inland NE fl by noon and likely hold
max temps close to 90 degrees there, then sea breeze front and
outflows will continue to track across the rest of NE fl and SE ga
through the early-mid afternoon hours and meet the stationary east
coast sea breeze along the atlc coast and allow for strong to
severe storms with gusty downburst winds possible again by the
mid-late afternoon hours, then storms should move off the east
coast. MAX temps will push into the lower 90s SE ga and coastal ne
fl with heat indices into the 100-105 range.

Aviation
Storms have mainly ended at all TAF sites with abundant mid high
level cirrus blow off clouds that will leaveVFR conds through the
night. An early west coast sea breeze development will allow for
storms to develop as early as 15z at gnv, 16-17z for jax metro
taf sites, 18z for sgj and 19z for ssi. For now have just placed
vcts in TAF forecast and will let later packages update to tempo
groups as timing becomes more clear. Gusty winds to 25-35 knots
will be main threat at terminals Tuesday afternoon.

Marine
Ahead of weakening front expect south to southwest flow at 10-15
knots with seas 2-4 ft. Main weather impacts will be offshore
moving storms on Tuesday afternoon with gusty winds and frequent
lightning.

There are five sources. 1) Documents and manuals from a variety of sources. These have not been checked for accuracy and in many cases have not even been read by anyone associated with L-36.com. I have no idea of they are useful or accurate, I leave that to the reader. 2) Articles others have written and submitted. These are not intended to be fact, they are my opinions. 4) Small programs that generate result presented on a web page. Like any computer program, these may and in some cases do have errors. Almost all of these also make simplifying assumptions so they are not totally accurate even if there are no errors. Please verify all results. 5) Weather information is from numerious of sources and is presented automatically. It is not checked for accuracy either by anyone at L-36.com or by the source which is typically the US Government. See the NOAA web site for their disclaimer. Finally, tide and current data on this site is from 2007 and 2008 data bases, which may contain even older data. Changes in harbors due to building or dredging change tides and currents and for that reason many of the locations presented are no longer supported by newer data bases. For example, there is very little tidal current data in newer data bases so current data is likely wrong to some extent. This data is NOT FOR NAVIGATION. See the XTide disclaimer for details. In addition, tide and current are influenced by storms, river flow, and other factors beyond the ability of any predictive program.
