Synopsis..A moderate to strong northeast wind flow can be expected late tonight and continue through mid morning Tuesday in the wake of a reinforcing cold front that moves south across the north central gulf overnight. A moderate northeast flow will continue through midweek as a broad surface ridge of high pressure continues to build east and south over much of the eastern half of the country.

Near term [through today]
In the upper levels slight troughing is over the region today. At
the surface a very weak cold front or cold push will move through
this morning reinforcing the cool, dry air mass already in place.

Pops will be near zero today. Clouds will clear out by late morning
or early afternoon. Highs will be below normal in the 60s.

Short term [tonight through Thursday]
In the upper levels slight troughing will be over the region until a
shortwave moves through tomorrow night. At the surface cool dry air
will remain in place. Pops will be near zero. Highs will be in the
mid to upper 60s tomorrow and upper 60s, lower 70s on Thursday. Lows
will be in the 40s.

Long term [Thursday night through Tuesday]
In the upper levels a ridge will build into the region by Saturday
before another shortwave approaches on Tuesday. At the surface high
pressure will be in place until the next system approaches on Monday
and Tuesday. Pops will be near zero until Monday and Tuesday. Highs
will be in the 70s. Lows will be in the 40s and 50s.

Aviation

vfr conditions will continue with light northerly winds.

Marine
A small craft advisory remains in effect until early this afternoon.

Northeasterly winds will become moderate this afternoon and increase
tonight after sunset.

Fire weather
Relative humidity will be low today but should stay above the
minimum for red flag criteria. Surface winds will be 10 to 15
mph. High dispersions over 75 are expected this afternoon.

Hydrology
Expect dry weather through this weekend. The next chance for rain
will be early next week. Most local rivers are below action stage.
