Update
The 12z sounding this morning showed significant dry air above
700mb, but slightly cooler around 500mb at -6c. The freezing
level remains high above 16.7kft, and lapse rates are relatively
poor. The flow has backed to the south and southeast from just
above the surface to 500mb, and the east coast sea breeze will
become dominant today. A boundary remains across southeast
georgia, with a tongue of deeper moisture (1.8 pwat) stretching
from near st. Simons island to the suwannee valley. Drier air was
northwest of waycross behind the boundary, and towards flagler
county in the southeast portion of the region ahead of a surface
trough moving across southern florida.

Expect isolated to scattered showers storms to develop along the
east coast sea breeze as it moves inland early this afternoon,
with scattered showers storms along south of the boundary in
southeast georgia. Storms will then shift towards i-75 in the late
afternoon to early evening before dissipating. A few storms could
become strong with gusty winds, frequent lightning, and heavy
rainfall. Highs today are forecast to be in the low to mid 90s,
except upper 80s at the beaches. A few locales in interior
southeast georgia could reach the upper 90s. Heat indices 102-107f
are expected this afternoon.

Aviation
Vfr conditions to prevail into the afternoon hours. Isolated to
scattered showers storms will form along the east coast sea breeze
as it moves inland this afternoon, with storms inland of the
coastal TAF sites. Kept vcts for the inland TAF sites for the
afternoon, with scattered showers storms pushing west towards i-75
by the evening. Light winds this morning will become easterly
around 10 knots this afternoon as the east coast sea breeze moves
inland.

There are five sources. 1) Documents and manuals from a variety of sources. These have not been checked for accuracy and in many cases have not even been read by anyone associated with L-36.com. I have no idea of they are useful or accurate, I leave that to the reader. 2) Articles others have written and submitted. If you have questions on these, please contact the author. 3) Articles that represent my personal opinions. These are intended to promote thought and for entertainment. These are not intended to be fact, they are my opinions. 4) Small programs that generate result presented on a web page. Like any computer program, these may and in some cases do have errors. Almost all of these also make simplifying assumptions so they are not totally accurate even if there are no errors. Please verify all results. 5) Weather information is from numerious of sources and is presented automatically. It is not checked for accuracy either by anyone at L-36.com or by the source which is typically the US Government. See the NOAA web site for their disclaimer. Finally, tide and current data on this site is from 2007 and 2008 data bases, which may contain even older data. Changes in harbors due to building or dredging change tides and currents and for that reason many of the locations presented are no longer supported by newer data bases. For example, there is very little tidal current data in newer data bases so current data is likely wrong to some extent. This data is NOT FOR NAVIGATION. See the XTide disclaimer for details. In addition, tide and current are influenced by storms, river flow, and other factors beyond the ability of any predictive program.
