Synopsis
Mostly sunny skies with near normal temperatures will prevail the
rest of today. Moisture from the southeast will increase Thursday
and should produce some clouds in the deserts and desert mountain
slopes then. Areas of low clouds and fog will occur near the coast
during most nights. Temperatures will increase a little bit
Thursday, with slightly above normal temperatures through the middle
of next week.

Discussion For extreme southwestern california including orange...

san diego... Western riverside and southwestern san bernardino
counties...

stratus cleared most coastal areas by 930 am, with mostly sunny
skies prevailing. Very low humidity was continuing in many parts of
the mountains and deserts, with a few locations below 5 percent,
including 2 percent at the pinyon raws in riverside county. Seasonal
temperatures will occur today with the upper trough overhead, with
less wind in the mountains and deserts than on previous days.

The upper trough will lift to the northeast tonight and Thursday,
with weaker short wave moving into mainly central california. While
westerly flow above 700 mb will continue to keep dry air aloft over
california, some low-level southeast flow, associated with tropical
depression 19-e in the gulf of california, will bring humidity into
the deserts and most of the mountain areas, and this will likely
bring a period of stratus early Thursday to the deserts and desert
mountain slopes. The moisture will probably not be sufficient for
thunderstorms, isolated light showers are not out of the question
Thursday. The southeast low level flow could spill over the
mountains and result in some east flow on the west slopes, with
local gusts around 30 mph possible there Thursday morning. That, in
combination with increased pressure heights temperatures aloft
should result in some decrease in the areal coverage of the coastal
night and morning low clouds. Temperatures will accordingly be
higher Thursday west of the mountains, though humidity will likely
lower temperatures in the deserts by around 5 degrees. That extra
humidity will linger for awhile with a slight decrease each day
through early next week. A ridge of high pressure building over the
interior southwest and the jet stream and troughing staying well to
our north will mean that temperatures will be a little above normal
through probably at least through the middle of next week. There is
still a chance of some offshore surface flow around next Wednesday.

Aviation
191625z... Coast valleys... Low clouds have cleared from coast this
morning. Stratus will redevelop after 05z and spread 10-15 miles
inland overnight with bases around 1000-1500 ft msl with tops to
1800 ft msl. Local vis 3-5 miles possible in higher terrain.

Clearing from the inland valleys Thursday 10-15z and from the
coastal airports 16-18z.

Mountains deserts... Clear with unrestricted vis through this
evening. There is a small chance of stratus development over
portions of the low deserts and adjacent mountain slopes tonight
into Thursday morning as surge of low level moisture moves in from
the southeast. If stratus does develop, local vis could be reduced
to 5sm or less at ktrm.

Marine
No hazardous marine weather is expected through Sunday.

Fire weather
Areas of very low humidity, in some places less than 5 percent, will
continue this morning in the mountains and deserts. The humidity
will rise a little bit this afternoon, but more significant
increases will occur Thursday morning due to moisture from the
southeast. Winds will be lighter this afternoon, with only local
gusts over 30 mph through san gorgonio pass and around 30 mph in the
san diego county deserts. Some offshore flow from the east could
occur Thursday morning on the west mountain slopes, mainly san diego
and riverside county, with local gusts over 30 mph, but humidity
will be increasing then.

Skywarn activation is not requested. However weather spotters are
encouraged to report significant weather conditions.

It is not checked for accuracy either by anyone at L-36.com or by the source which is typically the US Government. See the NOAA web site for their disclaimer. Finally, tide and current data on this site is from 2007 and 2008 data bases, which may contain even older data. Changes in harbors due to building or dredging change tides and currents and for that reason many of the locations presented are no longer supported by newer data bases. For example, there is very little tidal current data in newer data bases so current data is likely wrong to some extent. This data is NOT FOR NAVIGATION. See the XTide disclaimer for details. In addition, tide and current are influenced by storms, river flow, and other factors beyond the ability of any predictive program.
