Synopsis
Fair and mild weather will continue this coming week, with
coastal clouds nights and mornings.

Discussion For extreme southwestern california including orange...

san diego... Western riverside and southwestern san bernardino
counties...

Update...

it was another tranquil day across southern california. Highs
today ranged from 70f degrees at del mar to 106f degrees at palm
springs. Tonight will continue quiet with marine stratocumulus
developing and spreading some 20+ miles inland overnight. Lows
similar to the past few nights are forecast. No changes were made
to the forecast this evening. See previous discussion below for
further forecast details.

Previous discussion (issued at 121 pm pdt Thu aug 17 2017)...

sunny skies dominated the weather picture this afternoon. And it's
a little warmer than it was yesterday at this time. The marine
layer and onshore flow should stabilize better than it was this
morning for a more uniform coastal cloud deck tonight, and
coastal clouds fog could reach into the westernmost inland
valleys. Copy and paste this idea for the coming seven days and
your forecast should be pretty accurate. The day to day
fluctuations in cloud coverage and temperature will be too subtle
to notice unless you're really paying attention. We are paying
attention around here, so we'll mention that a very weak trough
develops Sunday and Monday that will probably push nocturnal
coastal clouds a little farther inland and bump temps downward a
few degrees. For the entire coming week we see no credible hint
from models about any monsoon flow. That will mean mostly clear
skies (except for the nocturnal coastal clouds), along with dry
and mild weather with temps a little under august averages.

Aviation
180325z... Coast valleys... Stratus with bases near 1500 ft msl and
tops to 2100 ft msl currently developing along the coast will begin
to spread inland after 06z, then reaching up to 25 miles inland
overnight. Low confidence in CIGS at kont. Clearing will occur 16-
18z. Low clouds redeveloping after 19 02z with similar bases and
tops.

Mountains deserts... Clear skies and unrestricted visibility will
continue through Friday evening.

Marine
No hazardous marine weather is expected through Tuesday.

There are five sources. 1) Documents and manuals from a variety of sources. These have not been checked for accuracy and in many cases have not even been read by anyone associated with L-36.com. I have no idea of they are useful or accurate, I leave that to the reader. 2) Articles others have written and submitted. If you have questions on these, please contact the author. 3) Articles that represent my personal opinions. These are intended to promote thought and for entertainment. These are not intended to be fact, they are my opinions. 4) Small programs that generate result presented on a web page. Like any computer program, these may and in some cases do have errors. Almost all of these also make simplifying assumptions so they are not totally accurate even if there are no errors. Please verify all results. 5) Weather information is from numerious of sources and is presented automatically. It is not checked for accuracy either by anyone at L-36.com or by the source which is typically the US Government. See the NOAA web site for their disclaimer. Finally, tide and current data on this site is from 2007 and 2008 data bases, which may contain even older data. Changes in harbors due to building or dredging change tides and currents and for that reason many of the locations presented are no longer supported by newer data bases. For example, there is very little tidal current data in newer data bases so current data is likely wrong to some extent. This data is NOT FOR NAVIGATION. See the XTide disclaimer for details. In addition, tide and current are influenced by storms, river flow, and other factors beyond the ability of any predictive program.
