Synopsis
High pressure aloft along the west coast will bring unseasonably
warm weather this week. High temperatures will be 15 to 25 degrees
above average on Wednesday and thanksgiving. A slow cooling trend
will begin Friday and continue through next weekend, but
temperatures will remain above average.

Discussion For extreme southwestern california including orange...

san diego... Western riverside and southwestern san bernardino
counties...

at 3 am... A ridge of high pressure continued to dominate over the
region. Skies were mostly clear, though enhanced moisture above
400 mb was bringing a few high clouds to the region. Surface
temperatures were cooling nicely, with 24 hour dewpoint declines
of 10-15 degrees in the valleys aiding the radiational cooling.

Winds were light and variable from the coast to the deserts.

Quiet weather will continue today, with slightly above average
high temperatures, numerous high clouds and light winds. The most
notable weather feature should be the chance for a colorful
sunrise and sunset.

The ridge of high pressure over the region will continue to
strengthen, peaking on Wednesday with 500 mb heights near 594 dm
over socal. Winds will also turn weakly offshore over the valleys
and coastal slopes as a 1030 mb surface high sinks south along the
spine of the rockies. These features will combine to bring
unseasonably warm weather to the region. Afternoon highs on
Wednesday and thanksgiving will be 15-25 degrees above average,
likely setting a few daily record highs. Elevated fire weather
conditions will also be a concern along the coastal slopes in san
diego county and below the passes and canyons of riverside and
san bernardino counties, where minimum afternoon relative humidity
values will be 10-15% with wind gusts of 25-35 mph.

After thanksgiving, temperatures will trend slowly downward as the
ridge weakens and shifts slowly eastward. Despite this, above
average readings should continue through the end of the holiday
weekend with no rain in sight.

Aviation
201000z...VFR conditions will prevail with high clouds at times
through Tuesday morning.

Mountains deserts... P6sm vis through Monday evening, with high
clouds at times.

Marine
No hazardous marine conditions are expected through Friday.

Fire weather
Locally elevated fire weather conditions area expected along the
coastal slopes in san diego county and below the passes and
canyons in riverside and san bernardino counties on Wednesday and
thanksgiving. Conditions shouldn't be extreme, but relative
humidity values of 10-15% and wind gusts of 25-35 mph will enhance
the risk for fire start and spread.

Skywarn
Skywarn activation will not be needed this week.

It is not checked for accuracy either by anyone at L-36.com or by the source which is typically the US Government. See the NOAA web site for their disclaimer. Finally, tide and current data on this site is from 2007 and 2008 data bases, which may contain even older data. Changes in harbors due to building or dredging change tides and currents and for that reason many of the locations presented are no longer supported by newer data bases. For example, there is very little tidal current data in newer data bases so current data is likely wrong to some extent. This data is NOT FOR NAVIGATION. See the XTide disclaimer for details. In addition, tide and current are influenced by storms, river flow, and other factors beyond the ability of any predictive program.
