Synopsis
High pressure will ridge into the region through the weekend. A
trough of low pressure will move along the coast Monday. High
pressure will build over the area Tuesday through Thursday.

Near term through tonight
As of 240 pm fri... High pressure will build over the area
tonight, with excellent radiational cooling developing due to
mostly clear skies and light winds. A light freeze could be
possible for inland sheltered locations, but based on guidance
(mos) temp dewpoint forecasts which are in excellent agreement,
think most lows will be in the mid 30s (33-36) so patchy frost
more likely. Along the coast, mixing will produce warmer mins in
the low to mid 40s.

Short term Saturday
As of 240 pm fri... High pressure will remain over the area sat
with sunny skies, diminishing winds and temps moderating into
upper 50s to lower 60s.

Long term Saturday night through Friday
As of 230 am fri... High pressure over the southern appalachians
slowly weaken and dissipate by Saturday night. A weak coastal
trof will develop Sunday night then move off to the east Monday.

Have the best chances of rain after midnight Sunday through
Monday. Dry weather expected for the remainder of the period as
a surface ridge builds into the region from the northwest.

Low temps Sat night will dip to the mid upper 30s inland, and
low to mid 40s along the coast (except obx which will remain in
upper 40s). Highs Sunday will be in the low to mid 60s. High
temperatures Monday through Thursday will dip down to a bit
below climo, with readings in the mid upper 50s, and lows in the
30s interior to 40s coast.

Aviation 19z Friday through Wednesday
Short term through 18z Saturday ...

as of 1219 pm fri... No change to the previous forecast. Pred
vfr expected through the period with mainly clear skies. W nw
winds around 10 kt today becoming light and variable after
nightfall.

Long term Saturday night through Wednesday ...

as of 240 pm fri...VFR conditions are expected through the long
term as high pressure builds into the region.

Marine
Short term through Saturday ...

as of 240 pm fri... High pressure will continue to build over
the waters through sat. Westerly winds have diminished to 10-15
kt this afternoon but are forecast to increase over the northern
and central waters to 15-20 kt early this evening. Winds will
become N 10-15 kt late tonight, then diminish Sat afternoon to
5-10 kt. Will continue the current SCA for elevated seas around
6 ft into tonight. Seas Sat subside 2-4 ft all waters.

Long term Saturday night through Wednesday ...

as of 240 pm fri... Winds will become the N NE 5-15 kts Sunday,
and then a coastal trough develops Monday, and causes winds to
turn to the NW at 10-15 kts behind it. Seas will then become
mostly 2-4 ft. Guidance is indicating the potential moderate
northerly flow Wed which could build seas to 4-6 ft.

Mhx watches warnings advisories
Nc... None.

Marine... Small craft advisory until 4 am est Saturday for amz152-154.

Small craft advisory until 7 pm est this evening for amz150-

There are five sources. 1) Documents and manuals from a variety of sources. These have not been checked for accuracy and in many cases have not even been read by anyone associated with L-36.com. I have no idea of they are useful or accurate, I leave that to the reader. 2) Articles others have written and submitted. If you have questions on these, please contact the author. 3) Articles that represent my personal opinions. These are intended to promote thought and for entertainment. These are not intended to be fact, they are my opinions. 4) Small programs that generate result presented on a web page. Like any computer program, these may and in some cases do have errors. Almost all of these also make simplifying assumptions so they are not totally accurate even if there are no errors. Please verify all results. 5) Weather information is from numerious of sources and is presented automatically. It is not checked for accuracy either by anyone at L-36.com or by the source which is typically the US Government. See the NOAA web site for their disclaimer. Finally, tide and current data on this site is from 2007 and 2008 data bases, which may contain even older data. Changes in harbors due to building or dredging change tides and currents and for that reason many of the locations presented are no longer supported by newer data bases. For example, there is very little tidal current data in newer data bases so current data is likely wrong to some extent. This data is NOT FOR NAVIGATION. See the XTide disclaimer for details. In addition, tide and current are influenced by storms, river flow, and other factors beyond the ability of any predictive program.
