Synopsis Dry weather and seasonable temperatures are forecast
through Monday. Slight cooling along with a minor chance for
showers is expected Tuesday and Wednesday, but otherwise little
change is forecast through the week.

Discussion As of 9:00 pm pdt Sunday... A weak upper level ridge
sits over the west coast. Good onshore push kept low clouds in
for most of the day around sfo bay and the mry bay area.

Temperatures today were consequently a few degrees below normal.

Not much change is expected Monday as morning low clouds and
continued onshore flow prevents much warming of temperatures. The
ridge will move east Monday night as an upper level trough
approaches from the west. The marine layer will deepen Monday
night and there could be local drizzle along the coast and
coastal mountains as indicated by the nam. Temperatures will be a
few degrees cooler on Tuesday. A secondary upper trough moves
through Tuesday night bringing a more cooler airmass to the area.

The WRF and the GFS bring a line of light showers through the
district Tuesday night while the NAM and ECMWF keep things dry.

Given there will be some instability from the airmass cooling
aloft it is worth mentioning a slight chance of showers Tuesday
night.

Clearing is expected Wednesday after the trough moves through and
mixes out the marine layer. More Sun is expected on Wednesday
which should allow for a slight warming.

Low pressure will be the dominant feature over the eastern pacific
the rest of the week keeping a westerly flow over the area. This
will prevent any ridging from forming over the state. Temperatures
will return to near normal but no significant warming is expected
through next weekend.

Aviation 10:25 pm pdt Sunday for 06z tafs... Low clouds are
moving back in tonight with several terminals already reporting
ifr MVFR ceilings. Expect all terminals to see low clouds
as the night progresses and continue into Monday morning. Some
locations may see the clouds persist into the afternoon, or even
all day. West to northwest winds will become gusty by Monday
afternoon.

Vicinity of ksfo... Low clouds have pushed through the gap and have
brought overcast ifr ceilings to the most recent hourly
observation. Expect low clouds to persist through most of the
morning. Guidance suggests strong west winds on Monday afternoon
with gusts up to 25 or 30 kt.

Sfo bridge approach... Similar to ksfo.

Monterey bay terminals... Ifr ceilings overnight and through
Monday morning. Similar to Sunday, ksns has a better chance for
clearing in the afternoon whereas kmry may remain overcast through
the afternoon. Winds will increase Monday afternoon out of the
west at 10 to 20 kt.

Marine As of 10:09 pm pdt Sunday... Brisk northwest winds will
continue over the coastal waters tonight and into the memorial
day holiday as high pressure remains strong off the west coast.

The gusty winds will produce hazardous conditions with steeper
wind waves and fresh swell. Winds will decrease Tuesday night as
a weak frontal system moves through the coastal waters.

It is not checked for accuracy either by anyone at L-36.com or by the source which is typically the US Government. See the NOAA web site for their disclaimer. Finally, tide and current data on this site is from 2007 and 2008 data bases, which may contain even older data. Changes in harbors due to building or dredging change tides and currents and for that reason many of the locations presented are no longer supported by newer data bases. For example, there is very little tidal current data in newer data bases so current data is likely wrong to some extent. This data is NOT FOR NAVIGATION. See the XTide disclaimer for details. In addition, tide and current are influenced by storms, river flow, and other factors beyond the ability of any predictive program.
