Synopsis
A weak cold front will drop across the area this evening. High pressure
will then build in from the north and west to close out the work week,
before moving offshore on Saturday. Low pressure lifts across the
great lakes over the weekend and its associated fronts will affect
our area. More high pressure will build in for the beginning of next
week.

Near term until 6 am Friday morning
Weak cold front should continue to settle south through our region
this evening, as a broad surface high builds towards our region. The
main thing of note with the front is that some precipitation will be
possible along the front by late tonight (when it is just south of
our region). Rain could build into northern delmarva, so have
increased pops there, but the rest of the region should see dry
conditions.

Despite the cold front, expect temperatures to be slightly above
normal, with lows from the mid 20s to upper 30s across the region.

Short term 6 am Friday morning through 6 pm Friday
As the high continues to build closer to the region, fair and
seasonable weather is expected through the day on Friday. Temperatures
are expected to be near normal, with highs from the mid 30s to
mid 40s (slightly lower than Thursday thanks to the weak cold
front). Pressure gradient is expected to decrease, and consequently
winds should be decreasing as well.

Long term Friday night through Thursday
Fri night Saturday... Mostly fair thru this period with increasing
clouds. There is a chance for some light rain to arrive across
delmarva and SE pa by Saturday afternoon. A cold night Friday night
with near normal high temperatures expected Saturday.

Saturday night Sunday... A wet period with deep low pressure cutting
well to the west and a series of fronts to cross our region. Steady
rains Saturday night becoming showery Sunday. Overall, around an
inch of rain could occur. Some hydro concerns possible with recent
rains snows and still rather wet ground. Winds will be moderate thru
Sunday morning , then a cold front will cross the area and winds
will increase over the middle atlantic area. High temperatures
Sunday before the front crosses will be in the 50s across the north
and low mid 60s over the delaware valley and delmarva.

Sunday night through Monday night..Precipitation ending but windy
and much colder. Highs Monday will be 15 to 20 degrees below
Sundays' readings. Sub-freezing temperatures are expected for Monday
night as high pressure builds over the area.

Tuesday thru Thursday... No major weather systems foreseen, but a
sharpening h5 trough across the great lakes could send a few weak
clipper systems over the area. A little snow could occur, but the
details are too low confid to include anything more than a chc pop
in the present fcst.

Aviation 20z Thursday through Tuesday
The following discussion is for kphl, kpne, kttn, kabe, krdg,
kilg, kmiv, kacy and surrounding areas.

Tonight...VFR conditions expected with just some mid and high clouds
around. The mid-level clouds will be thicker for terminals south and
east of kttn. Northwest winds 7 kts or less.

Friday...VFR conditions expected. Mainly high clouds around with the
mid-level deck pushing off to our south and east. Northwest winds 10
kts or less. Some scattered CU could develop in the afternoon hours
with bases between 2-3k feet.

Outlook...

fri night...VFR with increasing clouds.

Saturday...VFR early then lowering CIGS with rain expected by
afternoon. Vsby restrictions possible late.

There are five sources. 1) Documents and manuals from a variety of sources. These have not been checked for accuracy and in many cases have not even been read by anyone associated with L-36.com. I have no idea of they are useful or accurate, I leave that to the reader. 2) Articles others have written and submitted. These are not intended to be fact, they are my opinions. 4) Small programs that generate result presented on a web page. Like any computer program, these may and in some cases do have errors. Almost all of these also make simplifying assumptions so they are not totally accurate even if there are no errors. Please verify all results. 5) Weather information is from numerious of sources and is presented automatically. It is not checked for accuracy either by anyone at L-36.com or by the source which is typically the US Government. See the NOAA web site for their disclaimer. Finally, tide and current data on this site is from 2007 and 2008 data bases, which may contain even older data. Changes in harbors due to building or dredging change tides and currents and for that reason many of the locations presented are no longer supported by newer data bases. For example, there is very little tidal current data in newer data bases so current data is likely wrong to some extent. This data is NOT FOR NAVIGATION. See the XTide disclaimer for details. In addition, tide and current are influenced by storms, river flow, and other factors beyond the ability of any predictive program.
