Marine Weather and Tides
Hampton Beach, NH

Version 3.4
What's New / NOTES
5/20/2018 -- NOAA is having problems with the data feed that I use to draw the graphs. They are aware of the issue and working to resolve it. Sometimes changing the location by about a mile will give a correct graph. 3/3/2018 - There is a new GOES Satellite for the east coast that required rewriting that part of the code. Please report any issues.

Synopsis
High pressure will remain overhead through Saturday providing
the region with fair weather. Low pressure will move northward
off the mid atlantic coast Saturday night and Sunday and bring
rain to northern new england. Thereafter, a tropical air mass
will remain in place through mid week with attendant chances for
showers and thunderstorms each day, especially away from the
coast.

Near term through today
Quiet weather is expected today as deep layer ridging remains
in place. Fair weather is expected today after some early
morning valley fog. No rainfall is expected with temperatures
mainly in the 80s areawide. Afternoon onshore flow will cool
temperatures at the coast.

Short term tonight through 6 pm Saturday
Deep layer ridging remains in place through Saturday which will
allow for mostly sunny skies. Any rain chances should hold off
until Saturday night.

Long term Saturday night through Thursday
The deterministic model solutions are in decent agreement on the
long wave pattern through the first half of the upcoming week. We
begin the period with a weakening upper ridge and surface high
over the maritimes and new england. This bodes well for a quiet
and seasonal start to the upcoming weekend. By Sunday... The ridge
is offshore and an upper low initially over the great lakes has
begun migrating southward into the southeast conus. This low will
eventually park itself over the southeast with a large upper
ridge over the western atlantic. The resultant flow surface and
aloft will transport warm and increasingly humid air northward into
the region beginning Sunday then continuing well into the
upcoming work week. A shortwave impulse will pivot around the
upper low and with an associated surface system move north along
the coast on Sunday. This will lead to an organized area of
showers and thunderstorms and locally heavy rainfall Sunday into Sunday
night. Thereafter... We'll see daily rounds of convection due to
weak passing shortwave impulses and daytime heating. Towards the
end of next week... A cold front will inch its way eastward into
new england with its eventual passage dependent on how fast the
western atlantic ridge begins to weaken.

Aviation 07z Friday through Tuesday
Short term...VFR conditions are expected today through Saturday
as high pressure remains in place. The only exception will be
for areas of valley fog at night which may bring brief lifr
conditions.

Long term...

sun... MVFR with areas of ifr in shra tsra and fog.

Mon - tue... Areas of MVFR in shra tsra.

Marine
Short term... Conditions are expected to remain below small craft
thresholds today through Saturday.

I have no idea of they are useful or accurate, I leave that to the reader. 2) Articles others have written and submitted. It is not checked for accuracy either by anyone at L-36.com or by the source which is typically the US Government. See the NOAA web site for their disclaimer. Finally, tide and current data on this site is from 2007 and 2008 data bases, which may contain even older data. Changes in harbors due to building or dredging change tides and currents and for that reason many of the locations presented are no longer supported by newer data bases. For example, there is very little tidal current data in newer data bases so current data is likely wrong to some extent. This data is NOT FOR NAVIGATION. See the XTide disclaimer for details. In addition, tide and current are influenced by storms, river flow, and other factors beyond the ability of any predictive program.
