Synopsis
High pressure will be centered over the area today and tonight
before moving east into the maritimes Friday. A cold front will
cross the region Friday night followed by high pressure on
Saturday. A secondary cold front will push south through the
region Sunday. High pressure will build over the region Sunday
night and Monday.

Near term through today
High pres will remain centered over the region today. Lingering
clouds will continue but should mix out enough for some partial
sunshine as the day wears on. Temps will be cool with highs in
the 60s.

Short term tonight through 6 pm Friday
A warm front lifting by to the northwest of the region Thursday
night will bring increasing high and mid level clouds into the
region and may scrape northern zones with a few showers after
midnight. Lows will range from the upper 40s north to the mid
50s south.

In advance of an approaching cold front scattered showers will
develop in the mountains and foothills. Scattered late afternoon
thunderstorms are also possible. Ahead of the cold front an
increasing south to southwest wind flow develops so conditions
may become breezy during the afternoon. Temps will be warmer
with highs in the mid 60s to lower 70s.

Long term Friday night through Wednesday
Models are generally in good agreement during the long-term
period. A strong cold front will cross the region Friday night
with showers and possible thunderstorms. Gusty winds will likely
accompany the front as it crosses the region. Based on the time
of day, there is some question about the severe wind potential
with this front, however, it is possible to see some damaging
wind gusts overnight.

The front should be off the coast by Saturday morning with any
remaining clouds along the coast quickly clearing during the
morning hours. Northwesterly winds will bring cooler and drier
air into the region during the day under mostly sunny skies as a
ridge of high pressure builds into the area.

Another weak cold front will approach the region from the north
Saturday night and cross the area Sunday. This front will lack
moisture and will be gradually dissipating as it moves south, so
the area should remain dry, although there could be an increase
in clouds with the front. Behind the front, high pressure builds
southward across the area Sunday night and Monday. As it moves
offshore Monday night and Tuesday, an increasing onshore will
develop from south to north across the region... And southerly
winds aloft will bring moisture and the threat of showers back
into the area for late Tuesday into Thursday.

High temperatures Saturday through Tuesday will be mainly in
the 50s and 60s with lows in the 30s and 40s. Temperatures will
moderate Wednesday and Thursday with highs in the 60s and 70s
and lows in the 40s and 50s.

Aviation 07z Thursday through Monday
Short term...VFR through tonight. Scattered showers develop fri
mainly in the mountains and foothills causing some MVFR
conditions.

Long term... Ifr to lifr conditions are possible Friday night in
showers and possible thunderstorms with gusty winds. MainlyVFR
conditions expected Saturday through Monday.

Marine
Short term... Conditions remain below SCA levels through early
Friday. An increasing southerly flow along with building seas
will likely develop SCA conditions during the afternoon.

Long term... Scas likely Friday night into Saturday morning with
gales possible offshore. Winds should diminish during the day
Saturday with seas subsiding as the winds turn offshore. Scas
are possible again late Tuesday through Thursday as an
increasing southwest flow develops across the waters.

There are five sources. 1) Documents and manuals from a variety of sources. These have not been checked for accuracy and in many cases have not even been read by anyone associated with L-36.com. I have no idea of they are useful or accurate, I leave that to the reader. 2) Articles others have written and submitted. If you have questions on these, please contact the author. 3) Articles that represent my personal opinions. These are intended to promote thought and for entertainment. These are not intended to be fact, they are my opinions. 4) Small programs that generate result presented on a web page. Like any computer program, these may and in some cases do have errors. Almost all of these also make simplifying assumptions so they are not totally accurate even if there are no errors. Please verify all results. 5) Weather information is from numerious of sources and is presented automatically. It is not checked for accuracy either by anyone at L-36.com or by the source which is typically the US Government. See the NOAA web site for their disclaimer. Finally, tide and current data on this site is from 2007 and 2008 data bases, which may contain even older data. Changes in harbors due to building or dredging change tides and currents and for that reason many of the locations presented are no longer supported by newer data bases. For example, there is very little tidal current data in newer data bases so current data is likely wrong to some extent. This data is NOT FOR NAVIGATION. See the XTide disclaimer for details. In addition, tide and current are influenced by storms, river flow, and other factors beyond the ability of any predictive program.
