6/25/2017 - NOAA is having a major issue that impact the 7 day forecast load times. Many users are reporting problems. The issue has been reported.
5/23/2017 - Worked with NOAA again to speed up the 7 day forecast load times. Thanks to them for being responsive.
5/19/2016 - There were issues with the 3 day airport observation history. I switched to another data source. Let me know if you see any issues with the data feeds.

Weak disturbance moving through the region has been generating
snow showers over the mountains and foothills this evening. Hi-res
models continue to indicate some weak showers moving across
portions of southeast mt later this evening as well. Have
increased pops over the mountains and updated sky cover to account
for current trends. An inch or two of snow is not out of the
question for portions of the beartooth absaroka and bighorn
mountains overnight. Otherwise, the rest of the forecast remains
on track and the previous forecast discussion and an updated
aviation discussion are below. Stp

Short term Valid for Tue and wed...

quiet conditions expected for most of the region tonight. A weak
disturbance moving overhead will produce light rain snow over our
western mountains and foothills, and in southeast portions of
montana and northeast portions of wyoming this afternoon and
tonight. The winds in our mountain foothills in
livingston big timber nye will remain breezy overnight but peak
gusts will only be around 35 mph.

A ridge of high pressure will build back into the region Tuesday
and a lee-side trough will re-develop along the mountain
foothills overnight. This will bring another round of wind to the
mountain foothill locations like nye, livingston, and big timber
with 50 to 60 mph gusts possible into Wednesday morning. A
disturbance will approach western montana early Thursday morning
but strong mid-level flow from the southwest combined with a
stubborn lee-side trough will keep the winds elevated through
much of the day Wednesday.

As precipitation and temperatures, outside of the precipitation
chances for tonight mentioned earlier, conditions will remain dry
through Thursday. Cool start to the short term period on
Wednesday with temperatures in the mid 30s. As the ridge of high
pressure builds in expect temperatures to climb into the upper 30s
and low 40s on Wednesday afternoon. Dobbs

a progressive flow with no large systems or cold air in sight
continues for the extended period. Models disagreed in a lot of
the details of the pattern, so had to used blends through much of
the forecast. The pattern was supportive of windy conditions,
mainly in the gap areas, through the period.

A pacific jet will travel through the base of an eastward moving
trough that will cross the region Thursday into Friday. The ecmwf
was slower with moving the trough eastward than the gfs. Jet
divergence and good q-vector convergence will affect the area on
Thursday into thu. Evening as moisture crosses the area with a
cold front. Model blends resulted in a chance of rain snow, mainly
w of kbil with high temperatures in the low to mid 40s. Chances
for snow move S through the area during thu. Night. Accumulations
looked minimal. Pops will be confined to over and near the
mountains on Friday through fri. Night. Highs will reach the 30s
on Friday.

Both models build a ridge into the area Saturday through sat.

Night, but the GFS had more energy and moisture moving through the
flow than the ecmwf. Kept pops over and near the western mountains
for now, and highs in the 20s and 30s. Upper ridging or zonal flow
will be over the area through Monday, then both models bring the
next piece of pacific energy into the pacific NW for Monday night.

Had pops over and near the western mountains on Sunday. Spread
pops off the mountains sun. Evening. There was much uncertainty
for this period. Monday looked dry with highs in the 40s. Arthur

Scattered snow showers and frequent obscurations will impact the
mountains tonight. Lower elevations will see isolated showers and
vfr flight conditions. Tuesday will be dry withVFR across the
forecast area. Gusts of 25-35 kts will impact klvm. Jkl
