Synopsis Clouds will increase tonight with scattered showers
mainly south part. Showery and cooler weather will continue Sunday
into Tuesday as a weather system passes to the south. A generally
drier weather pattern will arrive mid-week.

Short term tonight through Tuesday Radar shows showers in lewis
and grays harbor counties, but nothing elsewhere. A few lightning
strikes occurred near chehalis around 8 pm. There has been more
lightning in oregon this evening, and mostly it should stay there,
but the forecast contains a slight chance of thunderstorms in lewis
county until 11 pm. These appear to be high-based thunderstorms not
directly tied to surface heating, so even after the Sun GOES down
the thunderstorms may continue.

Some showers will be around into the early morning of Sunday, mainly
south of skagit county. Showers will dissipate across the area
Sunday morning for some Sun Sunday afternoon. Temperatures on
Sunday will be in the upper 60s though a few spots may reach 70.

Generally dry Sunday night with the next system on approach Monday
morning. Another upper level low will slide south of the area on
Monday, ushering in additional moisture for some showers on Monday
into Monday night. A few showers may still be around Tuesday morning
with drier conditions expected by Tuesday evening. Temperatures will
be quite cool on Monday with highs in the upper 50s to low 60s.

Temperatures will be more seasonable on Tuesday with highs in the
mid 60s across the area. Jd chb

Long term Wednesday through Saturday Guidance continues to
highlight a drying trend beginning early Wednesday through Friday
across western washington with a ridge building over the pacific.

However, an upper level low across the interior west may keep some
moisture around the area. For that reason, slight chance of pops
kept through week with some sun. Temperatures will be a bit above
average with highs generally in the upper 60s to low 70s. Jd

Aviation Southeasterly flow aloft tonight will become easterly
Sunday as an upper low off the coast of oregon moves east. Low level
offshore flow will turn weakly onshore later this evening and
increase through the day on Sunday.VFR ceilings across the region
will continue with plentiful high and mid level moisture streaming
across the area. MVFR ceilings are possible in showers over the
south part, but any MVFR conditions will likely be south and west of
puget sound through Sunday morning. There is a chance of
thunderstorms in lewis county this evening.

Ksea...VFR will continue through the overnight hours, perhaps
briefly lowering to ovc030-040 in scattered showers near 12z Sunday.

Surface winds northerly around 10 kt becoming light and variable
after midnight. Chb

Marine A small craft advisory continues over the outer coastal
waters for hazardous seas with swell around 10 feet. Sub-advisory
winds on the waters are expected over the 24 hours or so, then
increasing onshore flow will likely bring small craft advisory
westerlies to the strait late Sunday afternoon and evening. A
weather system approaching the waters on Monday might have enough
southerly gradient for small craft advisory winds for much of the
coastal waters as well as puget sound. Onshore flow is expected to
dominate for the remainder of the week for advisory level winds at
times both over the coast and strait. 27 chb

Hydrology The daily hydrology discussion has ended until the
start of the next rainy season; it will only be updated as needed
until then.

Sew watches warnings advisories
Wa... None.

Pz... Small craft advisory for hazardous seas until 5 am pdt Sunday
for coastal waters from CAPE flattery to james island 10 to
60 nm-coastal waters from james island to point grenville
10 to 60 nm-coastal waters from point grenville to cape
shoalwater 10 to 60 nm.

There are five sources. 1) Documents and manuals from a variety of sources. These have not been checked for accuracy and in many cases have not even been read by anyone associated with L-36.com. I have no idea of they are useful or accurate, I leave that to the reader. 2) Articles others have written and submitted. If you have questions on these, please contact the author. 3) Articles that represent my personal opinions. These are intended to promote thought and for entertainment. These are not intended to be fact, they are my opinions. 4) Small programs that generate result presented on a web page. Like any computer program, these may and in some cases do have errors. Almost all of these also make simplifying assumptions so they are not totally accurate even if there are no errors. Please verify all results. 5) Weather information is from numerious of sources and is presented automatically. It is not checked for accuracy either by anyone at L-36.com or by the source which is typically the US Government. See the NOAA web site for their disclaimer. Finally, tide and current data on this site is from 2007 and 2008 data bases, which may contain even older data. Changes in harbors due to building or dredging change tides and currents and for that reason many of the locations presented are no longer supported by newer data bases. For example, there is very little tidal current data in newer data bases so current data is likely wrong to some extent. This data is NOT FOR NAVIGATION. See the XTide disclaimer for details. In addition, tide and current are influenced by storms, river flow, and other factors beyond the ability of any predictive program.
