Synopsis
A weak weather system will skirt the pacific northwest overnight
Wednesday and into early Thursday morning with a few light rain
showers. This will bring a cooler than normal day Thursday which
will then give way to a drying and warming trend from Friday
through early next week. A strong ridge of high pressure aloft
will build in, pushing temperatures well above normal for several
days.

Short term
Main 500 mb low evident on water vapor as it pushes into the
central bc coast. Partly cloudy skies across the region will
increase to mostly cloudy along with a few light showers. However
the current indications are not for any rain of significance.

Looks like just a few hundredths of an inch at best. A few showers
could linger early Thursday, but the bulk of the activity should
be over with by late morning. The core of the coolest air aloft
will remain well north, and while there will be some height falls
and thus a cooler day Thursday, it should still reach the 70
degree mark for the seattle area to keep that streak going. This
500mb trough should quickly exit east Thursday and Thursday night,
allowing for heights to begin rising by Friday. Temperatures will
remain near normal however on Friday. A ridge near the four
corners should begin to strengthen more significantly by Saturday.

This will bring rising 500 mb heights and a corresponding warmup
at the surface as highs will rise to about 5 degrees above normal.

Long term
On Sunday the 4 corners ridge will continue to build north and
send the 590dm height contour up in our direction. This should
spell temps climbing well above normal and likely well into the
middle to upper 80s with near 90 possible in the hotter spots.

This is expected to continue into early next week as the ridge
takes over and heights and mid level temperatures remain high,
with the surface inverted trough present to help push readings up
to near 90 degrees on Monday and likely into Tuesday as well. The
extent of this very warm weather should come to an end by later
Tuesday as the flow turns back onshore again. But expect several
days of warmer than normal temperatures, and near 90 degrees in
many spots by Monday and Tuesday.

Aviation An upper level trough will shift across the region later
tonight and Thursday. Light southwest flow aloft becoming
northwesterly Thursday afternoon. Air mass generally stable. Moist
in the lower levels and periods of scattered to broken high clouds
through Thursday. Areas of MVFR stratus is likely to develop again
across most of the lowlands late tonight Thursday morning. Isolated
ifr conditions could also develop along the coast and portions of
the SW interior and kitsap peninsula. Improvement toVFR should
occur by 18z.

Ksea... North wind 5-7 kt becoming NE to 5 kt after midnight, then
southerly 3-6 kt after 12z. MVFR stratus is expected to develop
between 10-12z and should improve toVFR by 18z.

Marine A trough moving across the region later tonight and early
Thursday will maintain strong onshore flow. The flow will weaken
Thursday into Friday.

Gale westerlies will continue tonight in the central and eastern
strait of juan de fuca, with small craft advisory winds in the
adjacent admiralty inlet and northern inland waters.

Light northerly flow will prevail this weekend, with the flow
trending weakly offshore on Monday. Dtm

Sew watches warnings advisories
Wa... None.

Pz... Gale warning until 5 am pdt Thursday for central u.S. Waters
strait of juan de fuca-east entrance u.S. Waters strait of

It is not checked for accuracy either by anyone at L-36.com or by the source which is typically the US Government. See the NOAA web site for their disclaimer. Finally, tide and current data on this site is from 2007 and 2008 data bases, which may contain even older data. Changes in harbors due to building or dredging change tides and currents and for that reason many of the locations presented are no longer supported by newer data bases. For example, there is very little tidal current data in newer data bases so current data is likely wrong to some extent. This data is NOT FOR NAVIGATION. See the XTide disclaimer for details. In addition, tide and current are influenced by storms, river flow, and other factors beyond the ability of any predictive program.
