Rest of tonight..West winds around 30 knots then becoming northwest 20 to 25 knots after midnight. Seas 11 to 13 feet with occasional seas to 17 feet. Bay and inland waters very rough.
Monday..Northwest winds around 20 knots diminishing to 10 to 15 knots late in the afternoon. Seas 7 to 9 feet with occasional seas to 11 feet. Bay and inland waters choppy.
Monday night..Northwest winds around 15 knots then becoming north around 10 knots toward morning. Seas 4 to 6 feet with occasional seas to 8 feet. Bay and inland waters a moderate chop.
Tuesday..Northeast winds around 10 knots. Seas 3 to 4 feet with occasional seas to 5 feet. Bay and inland waters a light chop.
Tuesday night..Northeast winds around 10 knots then becoming east after midnight. Seas 2 to 3 feet. Bay and inland waters a light chop.
Wednesday..East winds around 10 knots then becoming southwest around 5 knots late in the afternoon. Seas 2 feet. Bay and inland waters a light chop.

Synopsis.. High pressure builds into the gulf of mexico tonight amd maintains a tight gradient through Monday...with hazardous marine conditions. This high pressure begins to track eastward later Monday with winds gradually diminishing and veering through midweek. Another cold front is expected to approach toward the end of the week.

. Turning Noticeably Cooler And Drier Through Mid Week . . Dangerous Marine Conditions Through Monday .

DISCUSSION. A robust upper low with a surface reflection was over the western Carolinas this evening . with a cold front that arced out over the Atlantic then extended south through the Bahamas to central Cuba. During the next 24 hours this system lifts up along the eastern seaboard with the front shifting eastward. This will allow deep northwesterly flow to work in with cool dry air. Model PWAT values around 0.75 inches tonight drop to 0.50 inches or less Mon.

Winds have diminished and shifted just enough to lower the coastal flood threat and have allowed the coastal flood warning to expire at 7 PM. However winds will still support high surf and a high rip current risk through Mon. Clouds will continue to stream onshore from the Gulf through Mon morning . with partly to mostly cloudy skies that begin to clear in the afternoon. Lows tonight will be near seasonal while the highs Mon stay below by a few degrees.

AVIATION. 17/00-24Z. BKN VFR SC streams onshore overnight in gusty W-NW winds . with gusts AOB 30KT. BKN SC gives way to SCT AFT 18Z and winds continue gusty.

MARINE. Strong west to northwest winds continue overnight but had diminished enough to allow the gale warning to drop to small craft advisory . which runs through Mon afternoon with hazardous conditions. Mariners are advised to remain in port if at all possible through Monday. Then high pressure in the Gulf begins to slide east . allowing winds and seas to decrease and provide improving marine conditions through the remainder of the week.
