Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Tampa Bay Ruskin FL 230 PM EDT Mon Oct 18 2021

. High Dispersions Expected On Tuesday .

DISCUSSION. High pressure over the Southeastern States this afternoon will slowly slide east into the Atlantic through mid week with pleasant dry weather continuing across all of west central and southwest Florida. By late in the week and into the next weekend a cold front will move through the Southeast U.S. and then into the forecast area during the weekend. A slow increase in moisture within an east southeast flow around the high over the Atlantic and the approaching front will bring increasing chances for some isolated to scattered showers each day mainly during the afternoon and early evening hours with the highest pops residing across southern areas where the best moisture will reside. Daytime temperatures the next few days will climb into the mid 80s but with low humidity values it will continue to feel quite comfortable outdoors. Overnight lows will remain near to slightly below normal through mid week with overnight lows in the upper 50s to lower 60s. Temperatures will moderate from mid week on with lows returning into the 60s area-wide, with daytime highs climbing back into the upper 80s.

AVIATION. VFR will prevail during the next 24 hours. East winds in the 7 to 10 knot range this afternoon will diminish to 5 to 7 knots after 01Z tonight, then increase again to 7 to 10 knots after 14Z on Tuesday.

MARINE. High pressure across the Southeastern States will maintain an easterly wind flow over the Gulf waters through the remainder of the week as the highs slides slowly east into the Atlantic. Evening easterly surges to Cautionary levels are likely through mid week before the gradient weakens, with lighter winds with an afternoon sea breeze returning by late in the week and into the weekend.

FIRE WEATHER. Moderate 20 foot winds and transport winds combined with high mixing heights will support high dispersions across the region the remainder of the afternoon, and again on Tuesday. Drier air over the region will allow humidity values to fall into the upper 30 to lower 40 percent range the remainder of this afternoon and in the 40 to 45 percent range during Tuesday afternoon. A slow increase in moisture is expected for the second half of the week with no other fire weather concerns expected.
