Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Tampa Bay Ruskin FL 810 PM EST Tue Jan 18 2022

UPDATE. High pressure will continue to dominate through Wednesday with clear skies and rather cool temperatures again tonight followed by a mostly sunny and warmer day Wednesday with temperatures back near normal. Some areas of frost are likely again late tonight across parts of the Nature Coast and a Frost Advisory is in effect for these areas. Further south to around the I-4 corridor some patchy frost will be possible, but mainly on cars and roof tops. Overall the forecast looks on track with no changes planned.

AVIATION. VFR conditions will prevail with light northeast to east winds overnight becoming east to southeast 5 to 10 knots during mid- morning Wednesday and then shifting to south to southwest during the afternoon.

Prev Discussion. /issued 304 PM EST Tue Jan 18 2022/

DISCUSSION . High pressure in place across the area will continue through Thursday. Light winds and continued cooler temperatures will allow for lows across the inland Nature Coast counties to fall into the mid 30s, and will allow for some patchy to areas of frost toward morning. Will issue a Frost Advisory for inland Levy, inland Citrus, and inland Hernando for this. Some patchy frost is possible in areas surrounding this, but not widespread enough to extend the advisory in these areas. Conditions will continue to moderate through the end of the week ahead of the next system. This moves into the area on Friday, with some pre-frontal showers possible Thursday night. Model timing still differing a bit with this system, but will continue to monitor its evolution. The low passes over the state and lifts out to the NE, with the front pushing through the area behind it and clearing the area out sometime late Saturday or Sunday. A brief shot of cooler and drier conditions Monday, then another Gulf low/trough will bring some rain chances for Tuesday. Highs will warm into the 70s for a couple of days before dropping back into the 60s for the rest of the period. Lows in the 30s and 40s tonight, then 40s and 50s for a few nights before dropping again behind the front.

MARINE . High pressure will ridge over the waters and keep conditions light through mid-week. The next frontal system is then expected for the end of the week into the weekend, and will be monitoring that it gets better resolved in timing and impacts with future runs.

FIRE WEATHER . No concerns. Humidity will be increasing and dispersions will be increasing a bit as winds increase slightly from the E/SE through the next couple of days.
