DISCUSSION.

Current . The center of cool high pressure over the SE has edged to the GA/SC coast this evening and proximity of the feature will keep light to calm winds for overnight with good radiational cooling expected overnight. Temps however should be just a bit warmer than last night with lows in the upper 30s in northern Lake and inland Volusia counties, low 40s through the rural interior, mid 40s along the I-4 corridor, and mid to upper 40s along the coast. Pockets of light frost will be possible over colder outlying areas of northern Lake and Inland Volusia counties.

Wed . Light winds early will become light onshore by midday with another round of sunny skies. Temperatures wl warm into the low 70s with pleasant conditions overall.

Thursday-Friday . Guidance really begins to diverge in possible outcomes later this week with large discrepancies between deterministic models. It appears the main issue has to do with the potential development of a weak pre-frontal trough on Thursday ahead of our next frontal system. While models somewhat agree on the coverage and placement of precipitation on Thursday, they struggle to handle the system thereafter that will approach east central Florida (likely due to confusion on how the pre-frontal trough will impact the frontal system expected to move through Friday into Saturday.

The GFS remains the driest on Friday and wettest on Saturday and seems to be the most plausible scenario if the pre-frontal trough does indeed develop ahead of the frontal system. Drier air would likely advect in for a short time and pinch the moisture off thanks to west-northwest flow behind the aforementioned trough. The ECMW and Canadian seem to be catching up to the GFS with the latest model suites trending towards the GFS solution. Furthermore, mostly dry conditions are expected on Thursday with moisture staying confined to the local Atlantic Waters and near the Treasure coast with 15-20% POPs forecast. Rain chances will increase on Friday with isolated to scattered showers possible across east-central Florida. Embedded lightning will be possible over the Gulf Stream and along the Treasure Coast where the best chance for rain will also exist.

Overnight lows will drop into the upper 40s to low 50s inland and mid 50s to near 60 degrees near the coast Thursday night. Low temperatures will warmer Friday night with forecast temperatures in the the low 50s to mid 60s. High temperatures will reach the mid 70s to near 80 degrees.

AVIATION. VFR conditions prevail through the period with winds 10 kts or less.

MARINE. Tonight-Wednesday . Favorable boating conditions. High pressure over the Southeast U.S. will track eastward, veering winds 5 to 10 knots from northerly to southeasterly through the period. Nearshore seas will be 2 to 3 feet, offshore seas 2 to 4 feet.
