The low clouds are expected to spread farther inland across much of the valleys for tonight into Friday morning and again for Friday night into Saturday morning.

Generally minor day-to-day changes in high temperatures are expected for today and Friday with high temperatures near average at the coast to around 5 degrees above average for inland areas.
Onshore flow will begin strengthening on Saturday spreading cooling inland with coastal high temperatures on Saturday a few degrees cooler to around 5 degrees cooler for the mountains, inland valleys, and high desert.

.LONG TERM (Saturday night through Wednesday)...
A low pressure system from the northwest will move quickly inland through California Saturday night and through the Great Basin Sunday. It will bring much stronger onshore flow for late Saturday through Sunday.

Strongest gusts for Saturday night into Sunday morning along the desert slopes of the mountains and adjacent desert areas of 55 to 65 mph are expected.

There is also a slight chance for light showers for late Saturday night into Sunday morning with any rainfall of less than one-tenth inch near the coast to one-tenth to locally one-quarter inch for the coastal mountain slopes.

High temperatures on Sunday will be much cooler, as much as 10 to 15 degrees cooler for the mountains and deserts with high temperatures in the mountains as much as 15 to 20 degrees below average, mostly in the mid 40s to lower 50s.
