Synopsis for pascagoula to atchafalaya river out 60 nm..
with high pressure well off to our northeast and a deepening surface low along the lee side of the rockies is leading to a tightening of the pressure gradient across the coastal waters. A second surface low will develop tomorrow and deepen as it moves across the plains and into the upper mississippi valley Sunday. In addition the high in the atlantic will slide south and become centered east of the carolinas. This will keep if not strengthen the gradient across the area leading to additional strong southeast winds. This alone will keep small craft advisory conditions in place beginning today and through the weekend but with 72 to maybe 96 hours of persistent southeast winds there will be a large fetch across the gulf with seas likely higher than typical for the winds we will see. It will also lead to some coastal flooding concerns.
