Synopsis for the southern california coast and santa barbara channel including the channel islands national marine sanctuary and national park..At 20z, or 1 pm pdt, a 1030 mb surface high was centered 1000 nm W of portland, oregon, while a 1003 mb thermal low was located near las vegas, nevada. West to northwest flow will increase today through Monday evening as a tight surface pressure gradient develop over the coastal waters. Strongest winds will be thru the santa barbara channel.
