NEAR TERM

Surface high pressure situated along the east coast of the US will be in full control of the sensible weather through tonight. The local area will be situated along the southwestern periphery of this surface high which will lead to breezy east and southeasterly flow this afternoon and into the overnight hours as the Atlantic seabreeze makes its way west. No rain is expected but abundant upper level clouds streaming in from the west and southwest will help keep temperatures a few degrees lower than observed values from Friday.

No weather concerns are anticipated outside the breezy southeasterly flow leading to a higher threat for rip currents and rougher seas for this afternoon and extending into the short/long term period below.

SHORT TERM
(Sunday through Monday night)

Ridging will prevail across the area through Monday. The center of the surface high will be off the east coast with east to southeast surface winds prevailing. Dry conditions will prevail with highs generally in the 80s except upper 70s along the beaches. Overnight lows are expected to range from the upper 50s to mid 60s.

LONG TERM
(Tuesday through Friday)

The forecast still looks dry through the week. Although upper level ridging may weaken some at times, there are no major systems expected to affect the area. Afternoon highs will generally be in the 80s and possibly near 90 by the middle of next week. Overnight lows will generally be in the 60s.

FIRE WEATHER

Fire weather concerns will be somewhat elevated through the weekend.
This is mostly due to dry conditions over the last week or two and the combination of breezy southeasterly flow over the weekend. This will allow high dispersions as well. Relative humidities will stay high enough to keep more elevated fire weather concerns at bay. The easterly flow regime and cloudy conditions this afternoon will keep conditions cooler as well. No rain is expected over the weekend and into early next week but we will likely lose the breezy conditions by the early to middle part of next week as surface high pressure weakens and at least an isolated chance for showers is possible next week, though widespread wetting prospects still remain low through the next 7 to 10 days.

HYDROLOGY

Little to no rain is forecast for the next several days. Minor flooding continues along the middle and lower Suwannee River.
However, the minor flooding will be ending from north to south with the lack of rainfall over the next several days. Luraville is expected to drop below flood stage later today.
