DISCUSSION
Issued at 247 PM EDT Wed May 8 2024 The quiet and toasty weather will continue as high pressure over the western Atlantic remains in charge of our weather here along the Florida Keys. Skies will remain mostly clear, and the few clouds that do form are going to pass by without disrupting any plans. The aforementioned ridging will start to lose its influence on Friday, and through the weekend, as a frontal boundary pushes down the FLorida peninsula. The deterioration of the ridge will help to introduce some low rainfall chances through the weekend, and into the start of next week. While the front is still expected to fall apart before making it to our forecast area, there may still be enough moisture and instability to encourage some shower and thunderstorm activity through the beginning of the work week. There is still some question as to how much of a probability there is for activity, but the point remains that those in favor of active weather may be in for a treat next week.
