The background flow is nearly nonexistent today, meaning sea breeze circulations will be the dominant wind feature and the focal point for thunderstorm formation. KPIE is likely to be the first site to see VCTS followed by KTPA shortly thereafter. SWFL terminals like KRSW should be some of the latest to see storms. A brief period of gusty winds and IFR conditions are possible if/when storms move over terminals. The most likely window for this has been TEMPO'd at each airport. A very similar pattern will repeat again tomorrow, and likely for the next few days with similar timing and thunderstorm impacts expected. No other aviation hazards exist at this time.
DISCUSSION
Issued at 325 AM EDT Sat Jul 27 2024
For the weekend we will have ridging overhead that will slowly shift to the Gulf of Mexico. This will keep up in the same weather pattern that we have seen most of this week with light flow overhead. Our main weather concern will be localized flooding with little to no motion to the storms that do develop.
As we get into our Monday ridging will be heading to Texas which will shift our flow from neutral to a more north to northwest flow.
This will keep our focus of showers and storms more into Southern Florida. However, this regime won't last long. By Tuesday a new ridge will start to move into the Bahamas and push over Florida for the rest of the week. This will once again put us back into the neutral flow regime we have been in for much of last work week.
MARINE
