DISCUSSION
Issued at 339 PM EDT Thu Apr 25 2024

Current-Friday...At 230 pm the east coast sea breeze was observed in vicinity of I-95, moving inland. Fair weather cu has developed across central Florida, clearing behind the boundary. The temperature forecast continues to remain on track with highs reaching the low to mid 80s across much of east central Florida. Winds become light and variable overnight under mostly clear skies. Perhaps a few low level clouds could linger across northern areas tonight. Onshore flow increases to 10-15 tomorrow as high pressure builds along the eastern seaboard. Low temperatures mostly range the low 60s tonight, remaining slightly cooler across rural locations. Temperatures warm into the low 80s along and west of I-95 with mid to upper 80s forecast across the interior.

Saturday-Sunday... Upper level ridging across the eastern US will remain in place through the weekend. Surface high pressure across the eastern CONUS on Friday will shift eastward through the weekend, moving just offshore on Saturday night, and sliding southward through the day on Sunday as a vertically stacked low pressure system moves northward towards Nova Scotia. Locally, easterly flow will dominate with breezy and gusty conditions developing into the weekend, gusting 20 to 25 mph, perhaps up to 30 mph at the immediate coast.

While there is no mentionable rain chances overland through the weekend, guidance is hinting at the potential for some off and on marine shower activity, with a couple of these possibly brushing the coast. However, have kept mentionable PoPs over land out of the forecast for now, with isolated showers (PoP 20 percent) over the offshore and Treasure Coast Atlantic waters. Partly cloudy skies are forecast to develop into the weekend as moisture increases across the area. Temperatures will be in the low 80s across the coast and low to mid 80s across the interior Saturday and Sunday. Overnight lows will be in the mid to upper 60s Saturday nights, and low to mid 60s on Sunday night.

Monday-Wednesday... Upper level ridge across the eastern CONUS on Monday will slowly shift eastward and just offshore through mid- week. Surface high pressure off the Carolina coast will remain in place while slightly shifting southward before beginning to move out to sea into mid-week. Locally, onshore flow will persist, with speeds increasing to around 12 mph each afternoon. Dry conditions will remain in place, with no mentionable rain chances through the period. Skies will be partly to mostly sunny with temperatures on a slight warming trend. Afternoon highs will be in the low 80s across the coast, and low to mid 80s across the interior on Monday, and low 80s east of I-95 and mid to upper 80s west of I-95 on Tuesday and Wednesday, with near 90 degrees possibly across the far western interior on Wednesday. Overnight lows will be in the low to mid 60s.
