300 pm edt Thu aug 17 2017

Short term (tonight-Friday)
Weak high pressure continues to ridge across the area at
the surface and aloft. A weak inverted trough is currently
in place across the bahamas region. The inverted trough at
the upper levels will move over south fl for Friday while
the surface portion lingers just to the east of the state.

Deep moisture will move over the state and scattered to
numerous thunderstorms will be possible in the morning
mainly across the northern coastal areas then spreading
inland and south through the day. Lows will be in the mid
70s to lower 80s along the coast. Highs will be generally
90-95.

Long term (Friday night through Thursday)
A fairly typical summer pattern will remain in place through
the longer term period. A series of weak easterly tropical
waves looks to traverse the florida peninsula, bringing
slogs of higher moisture and greater rain chances to the
area periodically. A this time, the days with the highest
potential for more widespread rainfall appear to be late
Saturday into Sunday, and again Tuesday through Thursday of
next week. Otherwise, expect at least scattered
thunderstorms each afternoon in association with the
seabreezes and any weak upper waves that may move across the
region. High temperatures look to reach the lower 90s each
day with lows in the mid 70s. We will continue to monitor
the tropics as well, as several disturbances remain over the
eastern atlantic. None of this activity will be of concern
through at least next Thursday, but we will have to monitor
the progress of these waves closely for any impacts beyond
this timeframe.

Aviation
Scattered thunderstorms already in place from ksrq north.

Have tempos in for those terminals through 20z. Vcts
elsewhere through 01z with W NW winds. Thereafter, winds
become light and variable with skies clearing.

Marine
Light winds and seas for the next few days as weak high
pressure gives way to a weak inverted trough over the
weekend. Weak predominant easterly flow will give way to
diurnal circulations each day with scattered showers and
thunderstorms possible. No headlines through the period.

Fire weather
No concerns.

There are five sources. 1) Documents and manuals from a variety of sources. These have not been checked for accuracy and in many cases have not even been read by anyone associated with L-36.com. I have no idea of they are useful or accurate, I leave that to the reader. 2) Articles others have written and submitted. If you have questions on these, please contact the author. 3) Articles that represent my personal opinions. These are intended to promote thought and for entertainment. These are not intended to be fact, they are my opinions. 4) Small programs that generate result presented on a web page. Like any computer program, these may and in some cases do have errors. Almost all of these also make simplifying assumptions so they are not totally accurate even if there are no errors. Please verify all results. 5) Weather information is from numerious of sources and is presented automatically. It is not checked for accuracy either by anyone at L-36.com or by the source which is typically the US Government. See the NOAA web site for their disclaimer. Finally, tide and current data on this site is from 2007 and 2008 data bases, which may contain even older data. Changes in harbors due to building or dredging change tides and currents and for that reason many of the locations presented are no longer supported by newer data bases. For example, there is very little tidal current data in newer data bases so current data is likely wrong to some extent. This data is NOT FOR NAVIGATION. See the XTide disclaimer for details. In addition, tide and current are influenced by storms, river flow, and other factors beyond the ability of any predictive program.
