Discussion
Scattered showers and thunderstorms have persisted over the
cumberland plateau this afternoon. The rest of middle tennessee
has seen a pleasant but warm day with temperatures rising into the
low 90s in some areas with most places in the upper 80s. Expect
to see some isolated showers and storms continue into the early
evening tonight, then die off close to sunset. We could see some
patchy fog develop overnight tonight especially in areas that saw
rain today.

Rain chances will increase again tomorrow morning and afternoon
over mainly southern and western counties. Could see similar
spotty storms like we've seen today. Temperatures should climb in
to the upper 80s again across much of the area. The weather going
into the work week looks to be dry and warm. The threat of
isolated showers and storms stays west of the mississippi river
valley through at least Wednesday.

We're still on track to see a frontal passage sometime Wednesday
or Thursday. It looks like models are trending drier and drier
with the front, so we may only see an increase in clouds and a
switch to a northerly wind with no precip. Temperatures should
respond to the changing airmass on Thursday. Currently
forecasting temperatures near 80 degrees around nashville with
mid 70s along the plateau in the afternoon. Thursday afternoon
will be our best chance for rain and thunderstorms in the extended
portion of the forecast, but it looks like only isolated precip
is expected. Temperatures will cool into the low to mid 70s as we
head into next weekend and another passing upper low over the
great lakes region reinforces the cooler air mass over the eastern
u.S.

18z TAF discussion.

Isolated thunderstorms are expected in the mid-state this
afternoon, although coverage is not expected to be sufficient to
warrant mention in tafs. Of course, if a stray storm should pass
over a particular terminal you should expect at least a brief
period of MVFR conditions, due to vsby restrictions in heavy rain.

Otherwise...

expectVFR conditions to continue at bna throughout the forecast
period, while patchy fog late tonight and early Sunday will

There are five sources. 1) Documents and manuals from a variety of sources. These have not been checked for accuracy and in many cases have not even been read by anyone associated with L-36.com. I have no idea of they are useful or accurate, I leave that to the reader. 2) Articles others have written and submitted. These are not intended to be fact, they are my opinions. 4) Small programs that generate result presented on a web page. Like any computer program, these may and in some cases do have errors. Almost all of these also make simplifying assumptions so they are not totally accurate even if there are no errors. Please verify all results. 5) Weather information is from numerious of sources and is presented automatically. It is not checked for accuracy either by anyone at L-36.com or by the source which is typically the US Government. See the NOAA web site for their disclaimer. Finally, tide and current data on this site is from 2007 and 2008 data bases, which may contain even older data. Changes in harbors due to building or dredging change tides and currents and for that reason many of the locations presented are no longer supported by newer data bases. For example, there is very little tidal current data in newer data bases so current data is likely wrong to some extent. This data is NOT FOR NAVIGATION. See the XTide disclaimer for details. In addition, tide and current are influenced by storms, river flow, and other factors beyond the ability of any predictive program.
