Makamae

I haven't seen this picture for a while. Stirs pleasant memories. Even the haul outs. She was on her way from Ca. on an extended cruise when the owners stopped in Hawaii. On leaving Hawaii on their second leg south they all decided to quite smoking and threw all their cigarettes overboard. About an hour later they pulled back in the harbor and put the boat up for sale. That's when she came to me. Only my opinion, but this is not the boat I would choose for extended cruising, but it could be done. I would go smaller, easier to handle like the Bristol Channel Cutter, although cruising could be done. I used her for inter-island sailing which could come up against some tough weather too. Boats name, MAKAMAE, means precious in Hawaiian. Picture was taken at Pete's, on the Ala Wai in Waikiki. Hope you can use the picture. I live in central Florida now. Pretty well landlocked and I sure miss Hawaii and my L-36.
