masthead Take a look at the Masthead tool page. On that you will see a drawing of a masthead fly like this the one to the left. You will also see a from like the one below.

On this form you can enter the dimensions of you masthead fly as well as the wind apparent angle you are interested in. When you click "submit" the program will draw your masthead fly at the apparent wind angle you entered. Pretty cool huh? You don't have to enter the boat speed or apparent wind speed to draw the picture. You enter those after you are back from the water when you want to have the computer check the calculations you did on that water. You might want to enter some typical numbers just to serve as an example when using the table and plotting your results.

Below the image of the masthead fly, you will find a polar plot with the point you have entered marked. You can click on this image and get a larger image suitable for printing.
