Optimum Sailing -- Target Speed and Angle to the Apparent Wind
This page solves a parabolic curve fit to three sailing positions solving for the maximum velocity toward the wind. The input is the apparent wind angle, apparent wind speed, and the boat speed. The solution gives several targets given these inputs. All three readings need to be taken with the same TWS or the result is meangless.
