Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Tampa Bay Ruskin FL 730 PM EDT Sun Sep 19 2021

The current forecast is on track so no changes.

Weak trough in the western Gulf of Mexico with weak 500 mb westerly flow aloft over area. Very moist atmosphere with over 2.2 inches of precipitable water. Doesn't take much for isolated showers to form in this type of atmosphere. Radar showed isolated showers along coastal area and a band of scattered showers and isolated storms from Williston through Brooksville to Lakeland to west of Wauchula moving slowly eastward.

Activity will diminish this evening then we could see isolated showers moving inland along the coast toward daybreak with scattered showers and thunderstorms across the area Monday afternoon.

AVIATION. 20/00Z-21/00Z. Isolated MVFR showers will end this evening with VFR conditions prevailing. More showers could move into Tampa Bay Area after 10Z. Scattered MVFR showers and thunderstorms expected again Monday afternoon.

MARINE. Winds/seas no more than 10 knots/2 feet . except north waters could see 15 knots late in the week. Winds/seas will be locally higher in and near showers and thunderstorms. Weak high pressure to build into coastal waters during the week with building in during the week with easterly winds prevailing. However the flow remains light with sea breezes each afternoon.

FIRE WEATHER. Adequate moisture prevails for showers/thunderstorms and to preclude any low RH concerns.

TBW WATCHES/WARNINGS/ADVISORIES. FL . None. Gulf waters . None.
