Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Tampa Bay Ruskin FL 815 PM EDT Sun Mar 29 2020

UPDATE. No changes to existing forecast package. Mid/upper ridging remains over state with surface ridging extending westward across the Peninsula from the Atlantic. Closed low aloft currently over the Great Lakes will help flatten the ridge a bit Monday as it moves east, followed by a disturbance aloft trekking across the Central and Eastern CONUS Tuesday and Wednesday further weakening the ridge allowing a cold front to work across the Peninsula by mid week. After another mild night tonight with areas of patchy fog possible, expect a warm and dry Monday with highs in the mid to upper 80s coastal and lower 90s inland.

AVIATION. VFR through period with MVFR conditions possible due to low clouds and patchy fog from 09-14Z mainly at KLAL and KPGD . although effects at additional terminals possible. Light/variable winds overnight increase out of southeast after 14Z for some terminals before shifting southwest after 18Z across all terminals before decreasing to light/variable during evening.

MARINE. High pressure remains in place across the waters through Monday, with light southeast flow will turning onshore across coastal locations with the afternoon sea breeze. Ridge shifts south on Tuesday ahead of a cold front expected to move through Tuesday night into Wednesday, with increasing southwest winds ahead of the front shifting to northwest behind the front. High pressure builds through end of the week in wake of the front with light southeast flow returning along with afternoon sea breeze.

NOTE: East coast views moved to GEOS-16. They are experimental and not well supported by NOAA so they may not be correct so be warned. This change required redoing a large amount of the GOES code. If the image you are expecting is not showing, please let me know. You may need to use the EDIT function to update your location.

Privacy Policy:
I do not sell or share any user data or anything else for that matter. The only personal information I save is in the site log which has a line for each page view which includes the IP address your browser sends in the header as well as which page you requested. I use this to block hackers and other bad actors. I do not use this raw data to create profiles on users. I periodically delete the log files. If you are subject to CCPA, Google ads on this site will not be based on your past behavior so you will likely not see an ad for a lawn mower just because you looked for one at a big box website. Disclaimer:
The information on this web site has not been checked for accuracy. It is for entertainment purposes only and should be independently verified before using for any other reason. There are five sources. 1) Documents and manuals from a variety of sources. These have not been checked for accuracy and in many cases have not even been read by anyone associated with L-36.com. I have no idea of they are useful or accurate, I leave that to the reader. 2) Articles others have written and submitted. If you have questions on these, please contact the author. 3) Articles that represent my personal opinions. These are intended to promote thought and for entertainment. These are not intended to be fact, they are my opinions. 4) Small programs that generate result presented on a web page. Like any computer program, these may and in some cases do have errors. Almost all of these also make simplifying assumptions so they are not totally accurate even if there are no errors. Please verify all results. 5) Weather information is from numerous of sources and is presented automatically. It is not checked for accuracy either by anyone at L-36.com or by the source which is typically the US Government. See the NOAA web site for their disclaimer. Finally, tide and current data on this site is from 2007 and 2008 data bases, which may contain even older data. Changes in harbors due to building or dredging change tides and currents and for that reason many of the locations presented are no longer supported by newer data bases. For example, there is very little tidal current data in newer data bases so current data is likely wrong to some extent. This data is NOT FOR NAVIGATION. See the XTide disclaimer for details. In addition, tide and current are influenced by storms, river flow, and other factors beyond the ability of any predictive program.
