Prev Discussion. /issued 149 PM EST Fri Nov 27 2020/

DISCUSSION .

Models are a little slower with the approaching cold front than they were yesterday, we are looking at an early Monday morning event. The atmosphere looks plenty unstable and with Bulk Richardson Numbers in the 25 to 35 range there is at least some chance of a couple stronger, more organized storms.

Behind the front is much colder air. At first, on Monday the wind will have enough of an onshore component that temperatures will not fall very fast, but we should see strato cu from the cold air blowing over the Gulf. Late Monday the veers and that will allow the cold air to advect down the state.

Right now Wednesday morning looks to be the coldest morning with winds calming down allowing for radiational cooling. I would not be surprised at all to see frost in the typically colder locations north and east of Tampa.

Starting Thursday expect a very slow warm up to begin, until the next blast of cold air just beyond this forecast period.

MARINE .

No headlines for the weekend. Cold air blowing over the relatively warm water will cause enhanced seas early next week.

FIRE WEATHER .

Much drier air is expected next week behind the cold front with gusty winds early in the week.

NOTE: East coast views moved to GEOS-16. They are experimental and not well supported by NOAA so they may not be correct so be warned. This change required redoing a large amount of the GOES code. If the image you are expecting is not showing, please let me know. You may need to use the EDIT function to update your location.

It is not checked for accuracy either by anyone at L-36.com or by the source which is typically the US Government. See the NOAA web site for their disclaimer. Finally, tide and current data on this site is from 2007 and 2008 data bases, which may contain even older data. Changes in harbors due to building or dredging change tides and currents and for that reason many of the locations presented are no longer supported by newer data bases. For example, there is very little tidal current data in newer data bases so current data is likely wrong to some extent. This data is NOT FOR NAVIGATION. See the XTide disclaimer for details. In addition, tide and current are influenced by storms, river flow, and other factors beyond the ability of any predictive program.
