Synopsis..Generally benign boating conditions with winds and seas remaining fairly light. The primary hazard for mariners continues to be Thunderstorms. A few coastal showers are possible in the early morning before storms really begin to develop inland during the day. Mariners should watch for storms that may develop and drift towards the coast during the late afternoon and evening hours, creating locally hazardous winds and seas.

DISCUSSION. Very light winds through the atmospheric column continue today, though it is a touch drier with PWats of 1.74in. Weak high pressure will continue through mid-week, with light winds turning onshore in the afternoon and diurnal convection forming along sea breeze and outflow boundaries through the afternoon and evening with scattered to numerous thunderstorm coverage across the area. Highs will continue in the lower to mid 90s each afternoon with max heat index values generally around 105, and lows will be in the mid 70s to around 80.

Slightly stronger ridging then builds in for the end of the week and through the weekend. Light E/SE flow will turn onshore each afternoon with scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms still possible in the afternoon and evening hours each day. Highs will be in the upper 80s to lower 90s each afternoon with lows in the mid to upper 70s each morning.

AVIATION. Light east winds will turn to the W/NW near the coast this afternoon as scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms develop across the area. Thunderstorms should dissipate by 03z, with winds again becoming light and variable through at least 11/16z.

MARINE. Light winds and seas will continue under weak high pressure through mid-week. Slightly stronger ridging builds in for the end of the week, with E/SE winds turning onshore in the afternoon. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will be possible each day.

FIRE WEATHER. No concerns. Humidities will remain above critical levels through the period.
