Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Tampa Bay Ruskin FL 908 AM EST Wed Feb 24 2021
UPDATE. High pressure has settled into the region and is expected to produce continued pleasant weather conditions over the coming days. With this high pressure, drier air has filtered into the area, which is apparent on the 12Z morning sounding, showing only 0.66 inch PWAT. However, there is just enough moisture below 850 mb to keep some SCT/BKN clouds around early this morning, but is expected to burn off by late morning giving way to sunny skies through the day. The high temperature today will top out in the upper 70's to low 80's, which is around 4-6 degrees above average for the end of February. Forecast is on track with no changes needed.
AVIATION. Some brief MVFR conditions were reported early this morning for low CIGs, but has since lifted giving way to VFR conditions through the remainder of the period. Winds remain light and variable this morning, turning WSW this afternoon remaining less than 10 knots.
MARINE. High pressure over the eastern Gulf of Mexico will produce excellent boating conditions for the gulf coast waters through the remainder of the week and into the weekend. Mostly sunny skies are expected with winds remaining less than 10 knots and seas less than 2 feet.

It is not checked for accuracy either by anyone at L-36.com or by the source which is typically the US Government. See the NOAA web site for their disclaimer. Finally, tide and current data on this site is from 2007 and 2008 data bases, which may contain even older data. Changes in harbors due to building or dredging change tides and currents and for that reason many of the locations presented are no longer supported by newer data bases. For example, there is very little tidal current data in newer data bases so current data is likely wrong to some extent. This data is NOT FOR NAVIGATION. See the XTide disclaimer for details. In addition, tide and current are influenced by storms, river flow, and other factors beyond the ability of any predictive program. |
