Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Tampa Bay Ruskin FL 756 AM EDT Sun Sep 19 2021

DISCUSSION. A diffuse tough of low pressure continues across the area today with very abundant moisture and light flow. Model PWAT values run well above 2 inches. While the prevailing flow will be light an afternoon sea breeze shifts flow to onshore. We anticipate another day of considerable cloudiness with showers and thunderstorms. Scattered showers have been meandering over the coastal counties for the past few hours and will continue . spreading inland with increasing coverage during the afternoon. Daytime heating will be somewhat limited but still enough for thunderstorms with gusty winds and locally heavy rainfall. Forecasts looks good but have adjusted the weather and rain chances for the next couple of hours.

AVIATION. 19/12Z-20/12Z. SCT-BKN mainly mid clouds along with CU/FEW CB through today. VCSH then VCTS AFT 18Z result in brief MVFR/LCL IFR TIL 02Z. light VRBL winds become westerly AOB 08KT in the afternoon . but gusty near TSRA/SHRA.

MARINE. Winds/seas no more than 10 knots/2 feet although locally higher in and near showers and thunderstorms. A tough of low pressure across the waters . with somewhat variable winds . gives way to high pressure building in during the week . with easterly winds prevailing. However the flow remains light with sea breezes each afternoon.
