Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Melbourne FL 914 PM EST Sat Nov 28 2020

DISCUSSION.

Tonight . (Updated to include mention of patchy fog tonight) Forecast remains on course for a mostly dry night across east- central Florida. Could see a few sprinkles this evening into the early overnight from Leesburg to Daytona. A weak, mostly dry frontal boundary across north FL will slowly drift south overnight, reaching the Brevard/Osceola counties area by sunrise Sunday.

Cloudy skies tonight from Kissimmee to Titusville northward, with cirrostratus streaming across the southern areas. Patchy fog is possible across the interior late tonight through sunrise Sunday, with it burning off by mid morning. Overnight lows will drop into the low to mid 60s across the region.

Sunday . The aforementioned boundary will lift north as warm front with a weak area of low pressure developing off coast of northeast FL. At the same time, a better defined low pressure will develop in the northwestern Gulf of Mexico, then shift quickly to the northeast dragging a cold front extending from it towards the eastern Gulf. Local winds on Sunday will start light/variable, becoming south by early afternoon. Highs in the low 80s with mostly dry conditions expected.

AVIATION.

As a weak frontal boundary drifts south into the area overnight, a period of low stratus is possible across the northern terminals of LEE, SFB, and DAB. Have included TEMPO groups at these terminals for IFR/LIFR conditions with CIGS of BKN/OVC005 from 20/09Z-13Z. There is some uncertainty as to whether the low stratus will reach MCO and ISM, but did hint at lower clouds in the 00Z TAFs, with some shallow ground fog possible. Low stratus could hang around through mid/late morning Sunday before lifting.

MARINE.

Tonight-Sunday . A weak front will move south over the waters, mostly north of the Cape as winds remain light and variable. Winds on Sunday increase to 5-10 knots ahead of an approaching front with seas 3-4 feet.

It is not checked for accuracy either by anyone at L-36.com or by the source which is typically the US Government. See the NOAA web site for their disclaimer. Finally, tide and current data on this site is from 2007 and 2008 data bases, which may contain even older data. Changes in harbors due to building or dredging change tides and currents and for that reason many of the locations presented are no longer supported by newer data bases.
