DISCUSSION.

Current-Overnight . High pressure will settle into the southeast U.S. (Carolinas). There will be a range of winds from NNE-NE and possibly ENE by sunrise Fri morning as speeds gradually fall to around 5 mph over the interior/Volusia coast and near 10 mph along the Space/Treasure coasts. Conditions remain dry with stable airmass in place. While the evening hours will see a decrease in cloud cover due to diurnal reasons, the low-level flow (above surface) will veer to nearly ERLY by sunrise and this could gradually bring a few more marine clouds to the coast. The overnight should be mainly pleasant with M-U50s over much of the interior and away from larger metropolitan areas and near 60 to L-M60s elsewhere and probably U60s across barrier islands.

Friday . Previous . Easterly winds will become breezy at times (gusting to around 20-25 mph) as the high pressure moves into the western Atlantic. The marine influence will increase low-level moisture so we'll see more cloud cover, but a subsidence inversion remaining right around 850 mb should prevent any measurable precip from developing. Max temps mid-upper 70s along the coast and low 80s across the interior.

AVIATION. VFR conditions prevail through the TAF period. Northeasterly winds will become easterly in the morning, and will remain out of the east through the day. SCT040 daytime heating cumulus and SCT030 marine stratocumulus fields may be generated during the day, but these are not expected to have categorical impacts. Model guidance indicates winds will remain elevated Friday night, around 12 knots from the east, to the end of the TAF period.

MARINE. Overnight . Surface high pressure builds into the Carolinas. NERLY winds tonight will gradually veer to ENE by daybreak Fri morning. Speeds continue around 15 kts. Conditions remain dry. Seas 4-6 ft over the offshore waters with Cautionary Statements in place for poor small craft boating. Seas 3-4 ft near shore and perhaps up to 5 ft over the Gulf Stream (out 20nm) south of Sebastian Inlet.

Friday . Previous . East winds will be around 15 kt initially but will diminish to 10-15 kt by the afternoon. Seas expected to continue subsiding to 3-4 ft nearshore and 4-5 ft offshore.

MLB WATCHES/WARNINGS/ADVISORIES. FL . None. AM . None.
