DISCUSSION
Issued at 252 PM EDT Tue Apr 22 2025 As this nice day continues, we can take a minute to appreciate the Earth and its beauty! Scattered cloud coverage still resides across most of our CWA making for a pretty view across the water.
Temperatures on the island chain are in the lower 80s with dew points in the mid 60s. Along the Reef, winds have slackened and are now being recorded at 10 to 15 knots.
Winds are expected to continue on the trend of decreasing during the days and increasing during the nights for the next few days while the surface high, currently located north of the Bahamas, loses steam. Slight moisture will creep back into our area as the high gives room allowing for us to increase to slight chance of rain from Thursday into the extended range. But this high slacking is only supposed to last a few days before we will see it restrengthen and in result winds will once again freshen. For the time being, it looks like it might hold just below Small Craft Advisory levels but Thursday night into Friday might be the best time for it to make it to those fresh to strong breezes needed to issue one. Stay tuned.
