UPDATE
Issued at 1001 AM EDT Wed Sep 11 2024
Low clouds affecting much of the Sunshine State again this morning.
Those clouds will continue to lift and clear through the morning and will give way to afternoon/evening convection. Light easterly flow means rain and storms will push westward through the early evening hours before diminishing. Like previous days, much of the activity will develop off sea breeze and outflow boundary collisions.
Hurricane Francine in the western Gulf is sending increased wave heights and long period swells to the west coast of Florida. This will lead to an elevated rip current risk beginning this afternoon and lasting through Thursday and Friday. A Rip Current Risk Statement has been issued from Pinellas County southward through Friday evening.

Current guidance keeps much of this activity further inland, away from the coastal sites. Light easterly winds and VFR conditions expected overnight.
