KEY MESSAGES

- Decreasing cloudiness and warmer through the weekend.

- Gusty winds and hazardous marine conditions will continue through early Friday.

- Moderate to extreme drought conditions continue.

DISCUSSION
Issued at 228 AM EDT Fri Apr 10 2026 A rather stagnant benign pattern setting up for the weekend and next week. Surface high pressure over the mid Atlantic will sink slowly south today with drier air aloft advecting over west central and southwest Florida. After areas early morning low clouds, skies will become mostly sunny today across the forecast area with slightly warmer temperatures. The area of high pressure will hold over the region through the weekend with mostly sunny skies and dry warm conditions.

Persistent pattern across the Florida peninsula through the middle of next week as the area of high pressure will remain over west central and southwest Florida with mostly sunny warm dry days and mostly clear nights. Temperatures will run several degrees above climatic normal each day through the period.

AVIATION
(06Z TAFS)
Issued at 228 AM EDT Fri Apr 10 2026 Areas of VFR CIGs 050-060 vcnty southwest Florida terminals through early this morning...with VFR CIGS around 100 vcnty LAL/PIE/TPA/SRQ. Skies will become partly cloudy late tonight/early Friday morning becoming FEW-SCT 040-050 for the remainder of the day at all terminals.

MARINE
Issued at 228 AM EDT Fri Apr 10 2026 SCA through 8 AM this morning. Gradient is expected to weaken a bit over the waters today with cautionary level winds still likely into Friday night. Winds are expected to drop below cautionary levels on Saturday, however easterly surge of wind may cause cautionary level winds for several hours the next several evenings.

FIRE WEATHER
Issued at 228 AM EDT Fri Apr 10 2026 Sufficient low level moisture will hold over the region today to keep minimum afternoon relative humidity values above critical levels. Combination of slightly warmer temperatures and drier air on Saturday will cause minimum relative humidity values to drop into the upper 30s across the northern nature coast...and in the 40s elsewhere.
