UPDATE. High pressure over the region this evening will get shunted tonight into Tuesday as a shortwave and surface frontal boundary move into the southeast toward the Florida panhandle. Southerly low-level flow will continue tonight, with low clouds and fog expected to be an issue into Tuesday morning. In addition, a few showers will be possible tonight with the approaching frontal boundary, but this will mainly be for the Nature Coast region. The inherited forecast remains on track, so no major updates are needed this evening.
AVIATION. VFR conditions continue through the first part of tonight, then conditions are expected to deteriorate starting around 05Z or so. IFR/LIFR cigs and/or vsbys are generally anticipated for all terminals through daybreak. Cigs should begin to lift mid-morning, with VFR then returning by early afternoon.
MARINE. Some patchy sea fog remains across the northern Gulf waters, and some additional sea fog development will be possible tonight. Some of this fog could become locally dense and an advisory may be needed at a later point. Otherwise, a cold front moves across the region mid- week, with some showers possible and winds approaching exercise caution levels.
