New UPDATE, AVIATION
UPDATE
Issued at 830 PM EDT Thu Apr 17 2025
Generally quiet conditions continue this evening with high pressure at the surface and aloft residing across the state. High temperatures in the area reached into the mid to high 80s, about 2-4 degrees above the climatic mean at each location. Seabreeze boundary has pushed inland, with light easterly flow resuming this evening.
DISCUSSION
Issued at 300 PM EDT Thu Apr 17 2025
A region of high pressure sitting off the southeastern U.S. coast continues to dominate our area, bringing about a calm weather pattern with warm temperatures. Upper level ridging is currently building over the state, creating high pressure both aloft and at the surface, allowing for temperatures to climb above the climatic means and approaching record highs into early next week. Highs are currently in the upper 80s and are expected to rise to around or slightly above 90 degrees over the weekend, and remain there into next week. The easterly flow remains light enough to allow the development of local sea breezes each afternoon near the coast.
AVIATION
(00Z TAFS)
Issued at 830 PM EDT Thu Apr 17 2025
VFR conditions are expected to prevail through the forecast period.
Stronger easterly flow relative to today is expected tomorrow afternoon, which could result in gusty conditions at terminals.
MARINE
Issued at 300 PM EDT Thu Apr 17 2025
High pressure will hold over the waters through early next week with dry conditions each day. Winds are expected to remain below cautionary levels, with an easterly surge of wind each night.
FIRE WEATHER
Issued at 300 PM EDT Thu Apr 17 2025
A relatively dry airmass remains across west central and southwest Florida. Daytime heating will cause relative humidity values to drop to around or just below critical levels the next few afternoons creating elevated fire weather conditions. However, winds are expected to remain below 15 MPH which will preclude Red Flag conditions.
