New UPDATE, AVIATION

UPDATE
Issued at 810 PM EDT Mon Apr 28 2025

Convection continues to drift south across the Nature Coast this evening and it could reach the Interstate 4 corridor or a little further south before dissipating later this evening. Partly cloudy skies are then expected for the remainder of the night. Easterly flow will be gradually increasing Tuesday and with still enough moisture around scattered showers and a few thunderstorms are expected to develop during the afternoon and early evening, with highest chances near the coast where the sea breeze will be pinned. Overall the current forecast looks on track with no changes needed.

AVIATION
(00Z TAFS)
Issued at 810 PM EDT Mon Apr 28 2025

Any convection around TPA and LAL early this evening will weaken and dissipate by 03Z, otherwise VFR conditions are expected until late tonight when some areas of MVFR ceilings could develop. Any MVFR ceilings should lift by late Tuesday morning, then scattered convection is expected Tuesday afternoon which could cause some MVFR/local IFR conditions. Winds will become light easterly tonight, then increase to 5 to 10 knots Tuesday morning. The west coast sea breeze will try and develop Tuesday afternoon shifting winds to more northerly at TPA, PIE, and SRQ, but the easterly flow will be increasing at the same time reaching 10 to 14 knots by late afternoon into early evening.

DISCUSSION
Issued at 141 PM EDT Mon Apr 28 2025

A weak cold front to our north will be slowly pushing over us during the next two days as it dissipates. This weak cold front will help to increase our moisture over the area. This will spark some isolated showers mainly during the evening hours. By tomorrow morning PW should be around 1.5 which will help to bring slightly high storms chances. With the easterly breeze showers should start to form along the east coast early in the day before heading to the west coast in the late afternoon and into the evening hours.

Dry air quickly come back into the forecast for Wednesday and the rest of the work week with PW back down to under an inch and RH's getting back near critical levels.

By the weekend another weak cold front will start to push through the state. This will once again bring moisture content up and bringing some isolated showers and storms into the forecast each afternoon and evening.

MARINE
Issued at 141 PM EDT Mon Apr 28 2025

A weak cold front will start to push through tomorrow which will increase our winds out of the east to 10 to 15 knots with some higher gust possible. We will also see some isolated storms pushing off the coast in the later afternoon and evening hours.
Things will dry out quickly behind the front with winds starting out of the east on Wednesday around 5 to 10 knots before shifting slowly to the south by Friday.

FIRE WEATHER
Issued at 141 PM EDT Mon Apr 28 2025

RHs will be slightly higher through Tuesday thanks to a weak cold front that will be draped over the area. This will also result in some isolated storm chances today and Tuesday in the afternoon and evening hours. Drier air will filter back in for Wednesday and the rest of the work week. This will result in lower RHs once again but should stay above critical levels.
