DISCUSSION.
Current-Mon . Windy conditions should slowly subside through the evening over the interior, but will likely stay elevated (breezy) and gusty near the coast. Wind direction will vary from NW-NNE thru the night. Conditions are forecast to remain dry. Sky conditions mostly clear, though we could see some marine stratocu near the Treasure Coast late in the night and towards sunrise.
A high surf advisory remains in place along the coast for large breaking waves up to 8 ft in the surf zone lasting until 7 PM Mon evening. This could result in minor beach erosion and water intrusion in low lying spots along the coast during the upcoming high tide cycles. These high tides will occur around 4 AM early Monday morning and around 4 PM Monday afternoon.
A strong high pressure system is poised to build into Florida overnight and through Mon. The pressure gradient will remain tight and breezy conditions will continue with winds veering to out of the northeast at around 10-15 mph with gusts 20-25 mph over the interior and Volusia coast, with 15-20 mph and gusts 25-30 mph at times along the Space/Treasure coasts. The cool, dry air remains in place over the local area on Mon, allowing for below normal temperatures and no mentionable rain chances across ECFL. Skies will continue to be mostly clear north and west of the I-4 corridor with some clouds moving onto the coast from the western Atlc nearer the east coast and further southward.
Overnight temperatures will be in the M-U40s across the north and across inland counties, perhaps a few L40s in normally cooler locales, and generally 50s from the south Brevard coast southward through Martin County. Afternoon highs for Mon will be in the U60s and L70s across ECFL, except M60s for coastal Volusia.
AVIATION. VFR conds through period. Few marine stratocu may approach the Treasure Coast late tonight with a few more of these clouds along the coast and points further inland generally south of KMCO, with gusty (veering) NERLY flow, especially breezy along the Space/Treasure coasts.
MARINE. Overnight-Mon . Very hazardous marine conditions across the local Atlantic waters as the pressure gradient remains tight. Small Craft Advisory in place for most of the waters through Mon. Seas building 6-9 ft near shore and 8-10 ft Gulf Stream. Seas subsiding to 5-8 ft areawide by late Mon afternoon. Strong, gusty NRLY flow will veer to NERLY during the day on Mon and decreasing to 15-20 kts by the end of the day.
Fire Weather. Mon-Tue . Another breezy/gusty afternoon expected on Mon with NERLY winds (ENE Tue) as fire sensitivity continues. The airmass will moderate more along the coast with the onshore flow, but we will still likely see min RH values fall into the 30s near/north of the I-4 corridor both afternoons. With an extended dry forecast upcoming, Energy Release Component (ERC) numbers will be on the rise.
MLB WATCHES/WARNINGS/ADVISORIES. FL . High Surf Advisory until 7 PM EST Monday for Coastal Volusia- Indian River-Martin-Northern Brevard-Southern Brevard-St. Lucie.
AM . Small Craft Advisory until 10 AM EST Monday for Flagler Beach to Volusia-Brevard County Line 0-20 nm.
Small Craft Advisory until 7 PM EST Monday for Volusia-Brevard County Line to Sebastian Inlet 0-20 nm.
Small Craft Advisory until 4 AM EST Tuesday for Flagler Beach to Volusia-Brevard County Line 20-60 nm-Sebastian Inlet to Jupiter Inlet 0-20 nm-Sebastian Inlet to Jupiter Inlet 20- 60 nm-Volusia-Brevard County Line to Sebastian Inlet 20-60 nm.
