KEY MESSAGES
- Turning hotter much of next week with limited chances for rainfall.
DISCUSSION
KEY MESSAGE 1...Turning hotter much of next week with limited chances for rainfall.
KEY MESSAGE 1 DESCRIPTION...
An upper level ridge will build over the East during the first half of next week leading to a significant warmup with high temperatures approaching or exceeding daily records, particularly Wednesday when more widespready daily hi max and daily hi min are more likely. Expect conditions to remain dry much of next week, except perhaps for an isold shower or two across the mountains.
AVIATION /13Z SATURDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY/
NW to N winds with gusts up to 20 kt expected this morning, diminishing during the afternoon. Lighter winds Sunday. Stronger SSW or SW winds Monday gusting 25-30 kt
MARINE
A northerly surge behind a cdfnt this morning will bring SCA gusts to the waters this morning before winds begin to diminish this afternoon. Winds should subside below SCA by the end of the day, if not sooner.
Winds stay below SCA criteria tonight through Sunday, then pick up in strength Sunday night into Monday with SCA conditions expected. Another period of SCA conditions is likely during the middle and second half of next week.
FIRE WEATHER
A weak cold front will cross the area this morning with winds shifting first to NW then N. While it will turn dry with Rh's dropping into the 20s this afternoon, the strongest winds will not overlap with the lowest humidities. Hence, no SPS will be needed.
Lighter winds Sunday will preclude any issuance of SPS or RFWs.
Hotter temperatures next week combined with gusty SSW or S winds will increase the fire weather risk, particularly Monday and Thursday. SPS's or RFW's may be needed. No rainfall is expected until next weekend.
