Synopsis A weak upper level trough will move over western
washington today and remain into Saturday. A weak system will move
by to the north today with a second weak system dissipating before
it reaches the area on Saturday. An upper level ridge will build
into the area Sunday through the middle of next week. Low level
offshore flow Tuesday through Thursday will give the area well
above normal high temperatures.

Short term today through Sunday Satellite imagery shows weak
weather system approaching the area from the northwest early this
morning. Clouds out ahead of the feature have reached the central
portion of vancouver island as of 3 am 10z. Mostly clear skies
over western washington with some patchy fog developing between
puyallup and olympia. Temperatures at 3 am were mostly in the
50s.

System offshore will continue to weaken and lift a little north
today. For most of the area just an increase in cloud cover this
morning ( photographers alert, could be a colorful sunrise ) with
the mostly cloudy skies continuing into the afternoon hours. There
is a slight chance of showers near the canadian border later
today. Highs with the cloud cover will be in the mid 60s to mid
70s.

A little break between systems tonight with another weak system
dissipating before it moves into the area on Saturday. This
system will have a little more southerly track to it with the
remnants moving into western washington during the day on
Saturday. Will keep a slight chance of showers west of puget sound
in the forecast. Lows tonight will be in the 50s. Highs on
Saturday with the cloud cover will continue to be a little below
normal, in the mid 60s to mid 70s.

Low level onshore flow continuing Saturday night into Sunday with
northwesterly flow aloft. Upper level ridge beginning to build
offshore Sunday afternoon. Even with more sunshine on Sunday the
low level onshore flow will keep highs in the upper 60s to upper
70s. Lows Saturday night in the 50s.

Long term Monday through Thursday Extended models remain in
good agreement with an upper level ridge building over the area
Monday and Tuesday and remaining over the area Wednesday. The
ecmwf weakens the ridge on Thursday while the GFS and the
ensembles keep the ridge solidly over the area. Low level flow
turning offshore on Tuesday and remaining offshore through
Thursday. Model 850 mb temperatures in the plus 16 to plus 20c
range for Wednesday and Thursday. Plus 20c at 850 with low level
offshore flow brings up the possibility of lower 90s but with the
models trending a little cooler with the 850 mb temperatures will
keep the high end of the MAX temps for now in the upper 80s
Wednesday and Thursday. Felton

Aviation A broad upper trough will settle over the area today
and tonight. A weak disturbance in the westerly flow aloft will
brush the northern part of the area today. A second weak frontal
system will dissipate off the coast tonight. At the surface,
onshore will continue with high pressure offshore and lower
pressure inland. The air mass is mostly dry and stable.

There will be areas of low clouds this morning but nothing too
widespread under weak low level onshore flow. The low clouds that
are around this morning should burn off my afternoon. Otherwise,
there will be high clouds today and maybe some mid clouds at
times over the north part of the area as a weak weather system
brushes the area. Low and mid clouds should increase again west of
puget sound - mostly near the coast - as a second weak front
approaches from the west and dissipates offshore.

Ksea... There is an area of 3000-4000 foot ceilings east of the
terminal that will be close at times but is not expected to
produce a ceiling at the TAF site. There is also a small chance
some stratus could form in place this morning under weak onshore
flow but the most likely scenario is just high clouds today. Mid
clouds will likely increase tonight as a weak front dissipates to
the west. Light wind will become northerly 4-8 knots this
afternoon. Schneider

Marine A weak weather system will brush the north part
of the area today. A second weak cold front will dissipate over
the coastal waters tonight and Saturday.

Otherwise, onshore flow will continue through early next week
with high pressure offshore and lower pressure inland. Small craft
advisory strength west winds are likely in the central and
eastern strait of juan de fuca each night for the next few days.

Winds could rise to gale force in the strait Saturday evening but
confidence is not high enough for a watch yet.

Low level flow will turn offshore next Tuesday as a thermal
trough builds north along the west coast. Schneider

Hydrology The daily hydrology discussion has ended until the
start of the next rainy season; it will only be updated as needed
until then.

Sew watches warnings advisories
Wa... None.

Pz... Small craft advisory from 4 pm this afternoon to 3 am pdt
Saturday for central u.S. Waters strait of juan de fuca-
east entrance u.S. Waters strait of juan de fuca.

It is not checked for accuracy either by anyone at L-36.com or by the source which is typically the US Government. See the NOAA web site for their disclaimer. Finally, tide and current data on this site is from 2007 and 2008 data bases, which may contain even older data. Changes in harbors due to building or dredging change tides and currents and for that reason many of the locations presented are no longer supported by newer data bases.
