Chances for precipitation increase Monday and Tuesday as a system moves over the Pacific Northwest, with dry and warmer conditions returning by mid-week.
SHORT TERM /TONIGHT THROUGH SUNDAY/
High pressure giving dry and mild conditions to western WA today and Friday. Temperatures are mainly in the 60s with a few spots in the interior reaching the lower 70s late this afternoon. Expect similar conditions on Friday except for the coast which will see morning stratus.
Dry conditions extend through the weekend as an upper low drifts to our south (over CA). Heights are a little lower and temperatures will be mostly in the 60s. Onshore flow will increase Saturday night and Sunday for more low clouds and stratus. Highs Sunday will reach the lower to mid 60s with 50s along the coast.
33
LONG TERM /MONDAY THROUGH THURSDAY/
Our next chance for seeing rain will be next week Monday and Tuesday as a weak/splitting frontal system moves inland. This pattern will knock temperatures closer to average with highs near 60, and lows in the 40s. Snow levels remain high (5000-6000 ft) with just a few inches of snow on the higher mountain peaks. Drier weather is in store heading toward midweek as high pressure rebuilds over the Pac NW. 33
AVIATION
An upper ridge will remain over the northern Pacific Northwest into Friday as a closed low develops offshore of California tonight through Friday. Light south to southeast flow aloft will continue into Friday. Clear skies this afternoon with a few high clouds spreading northwards into tonight. Generally clear skies on Friday other than high clouds at times. IFR/LIFR stratus may reach HQM between 13 to 17z Friday morning, but low clouds are expected to be confined to the south coast. N/NW surface winds into this evening will become light tonight before increasing again midday Friday.
KSEA...Clear skies, with a few high clouds at times tonight into Friday. NW winds of 8 to 12 kts will become NE at 4 to 8 kts tonight. N/NW winds will increase after 18z on Friday, with a few gusts near 15 kts possible Friday afternoon. JD

Northerly flow will continue into Friday. Winds will increase further for the outer Coastal Waters Friday afternoon into Saturday, resulting in Small Craft Advisory winds during this period.
