DISCUSSION
Issued at 245 AM EDT Sun Sep 8 2024
A stationary boundary draped across North Florida, continues to influence conditions around it. Mainly this will mean, extra moisture along the boundary and increased chances of showers and storms, especially for areas north of I4 today. However, typical afternoon showers along sea breeze boundaries will also develop inland then push back towards the west coast in the evening. The light steering flow aloft will make any movement of showers and storms rather slow, so main concern will continue to be the chance for localized urban and small stream flooding. Frequent lightning and strong wind gusts could also be possible.
Increased moisture associated with the stalled frontal boundary will keep rain chances elevated through the week. With more coverage shifting a little further south as the front shifts south.
Increased cloud cover and afternoon showers and storms will help keep temperatures slightly closer to normal, however heat indices will still likely reach the triple digits, also thanks to the added moisture.
AVIATION
(06Z TAFS)
Issued at 245 AM EDT Sun Sep 8 2024
Light E/SE flow will shift more W/SW this afternoon as the sea breeze develops. showers and storms likely this afternoon, with greatest chances near I4 corridor and north. Showers further south, however can not be ruled out.
